Ahmed is a really great driving instructor. He’s very knowledgeable, firm but fair, and always supportive. He really helped build my confidence and helped me feel comfortable behind the wheel. I’d highly recommend him!

Cutting through in front of a learner driver, especially close to a roundabout or junction, can be extremely risky. The learner may need extra time to observe, assess traffic and choose the correct position. A sudden manoeuvre can cause confusion, force the learner to brake or change direction unexpectedly, and potentially lead to a collision. Always give learner drivers plenty of space and time to react safely.

This is a live example on one of my lessons when the blue car just turned into the major road to the left without effective observation to both sides of the road before merging but a quick look at a very closed T junction where the visibility is too limited. I’m posting this clip for educational purpose and the driver of the other car apologised for being not fully aware of the risk behind that decision until I had to use the dual controls to keep myself and my learner safe.

AHMED’S “AM I REALLY READY?” CHECKLIST 🤨

Before we start searching for that earlier test, be honest with yourself…

* Can you drive confidently without Ahmed having to save you? 😬

* Can you tackle a roundabout without giving Ahmed a heart attack? 😟

* Do you actually check your mirrors properly, or just move your eyes around for show? 🙄

* Can you follow the sat nav without panicking when it says “recalculating”? 🤥

* Do you know the speed limit without asking Ahmed every 51 seconds? 😅

* Can you park without Ahmed suddenly praying for divine intervention? 🥲

* Can you deal with other drivers making silly mistakes without copying them? 🤓

* Can you make a mistake, recover safely and keep going?😰

* Can you drive safely if Ahmed said absolutely NOTHING? 🤐

* Would Ahmed feel completely comfortable letting you drive with his family in the car?😱😱

Tom’s Review :

Honestly, I couldn’t recommend my driving instructor enough! He was such a great instructor and made learning to drive so much easier. He always knew exactly what to say and had really good ways of explaining things so they actually made sense. He’s definitely harsh but fair, and you can tell he genuinely wants you to do well.

Thanks to his help, I’ve gone from being a learner to feeling like a genuinely confident driver. Would 100% recommend him to anyone looking for a great driving instructor.
