Coronavirus Update

A lot has changed (for all of us) in a short space of time, so we thought it might be helpful to post an update to let you know our plans as they stand at present.

Many of you may have heard, that the government recently announced that MOT expiry dates will be extended by 6 months for the foreseeable future. (This will happen automatically, so there is no need to contact the DVSA yourself.)

While this measure is intended to make things easier for us all during these challenging times, the government has stressed you must continue to ensure that your vehicle is safe to drive, and makes the point that ‘it can be unsafe even if your MOT expiry date has been extended.’

We are following the government’s advice to MOT Centres and garages closely (https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-mot-centre-and-tester-guidance), and have implemented a raft of new measures in an effort to keep our team and customers safe.

Some people are still choosing to have their MOT done, and we are still happy to do them. Our intention at present is to remain open, and keep our local community safe on the roads for as long as possible.

If you would like any information about the measures we are taking to keep us all safe from the spread of coronavirus, please do give us a call. We will be more than happy to have a chat about it.

Just a reminder that we offer a local collection and delivery service to all our customers.

If you are self-isolating, and are worried about getting your vehicle to us, please just give us a call and we will pick up your car and drop it off when the work is done.

Also, do let us know if we can help with any basic supplies. We would be more than happy to call in at the Post Office or local supermarket for you on the way to collect your car.

Thanks again to everyone who supported our fundraising efforts for the Alzheimer's Society last month through sponsorship, and raffle tickets purchases... with your help, we have raised the fantastic total of £779! 😃

As we have now completed our challenges (for the time being 😆), it just remains to announce the winner of the raffle.

So without further ado... the winner is.... drum roll.... Mrs Shaw from Hovingham, with ticket number 158. 🎉 We will be in touch shortly to arrange getting the awesome hamper of goodies to you (including a complimentary MOT).

Many thanks to all the wonderful folk who have supported Fiona, Phil & Matt’s fundraising for the Alzheimer's Society over the past few weeks, through sponsorship and the purchase of raffle tickets. With your help, we are delighted to have raised an amazing £670 to date! 😍

Raffle tickets will be available to purchase up until the 31st August. The prize is a fantastic hamper of car valeting products (kindly donated by YMF Car Parts York - Layerthorpe) as well as a complimentary MOT test (by us! 😆).

Raffle tickets cost £1 each and can either be bought physically, by calling in to see us at the garage, or by messaging us with how many tickets you’d like and sending payment via our justgiving page. All proceeds from the raffle will go directly to the Alzheimer's Society - North East England, and we will draw the raffle on 31st August, the morning of our big walk.
