Double action down in Hertfordshire last weekend, giving these two MANs a bit of extra muscle for tackling those hills. 💪🚛

Straight from the factory they leave with 470bhp and 2400Nm of torque… respectable, but let’s just say they were working a bit too hard every time the road pointed upwards.

A quick visit later, and they’re now putting out 540bhp and 2950Nm of torque. That’s an extra 70bhp and 550Nm, meaning the only thing they’ll be dropping on the hills now is everyone else. 😎

The drivers might even have to get used to seeing the top of the climb without needing to introduce themselves to every gear in the gearbox!

Another pair of happy trucks, another happy customer, and a couple of MANs that are now living up to their name. ✔️

Yesterday’s job was an interesting one.

I attended a lorry that had already been worked on by another company who had supposedly “removed the limp mode.” Except… they hadn’t actually removed the limp mode at all. What they had done was delete all the DTCs.

Now, technically, yes, if you delete all the fault codes, the truck won’t immediately go into limp mode. The only slight issue with this approach is that the truck was then permanently trying to carry out a regen because there was an obvious fault present… but with no DTCs stored, nobody on the planet had a clue what it was.

It’s a bit like taking the batteries out of your smoke alarm because you don’t like the beeping. The noise stops, but the fire is still very much there.

After some proper diagnosis, we found and fixed the actual issue, and the truck is now operating as it should.

A friendly reminder: deleting fault codes is not the correct way to disable limp mode. Please think carefully about who you trust to remap your vehicle, even if they appear reputable.

This is now the second truck from the same company I’ve had to rectify in as many weeks. At this rate, I should probably ask them to put me on the payroll 😆

Stage 1 ✅

The owner of this Volvo FH500 has recently downsized his operation to a one truck fleet. And, as every owner-operator knows, if you’re only running one truck, it might as well be the best one on the road!

He got in touch looking to treat himself to a bit more power while also cutting running costs, because who says you can’t have your cake and eat it too?

After our upgrade, this FH500 has gained an impressive 75 horsepower and 450Nm of torque, while delivering at least 10% better fuel economy.

More power, less fuel… the only downside is he’ll have one less thing to complain about at the truck stop! 🚛💨

We recently had the pleasure of working on these two Mercedes trucks for RML Transport and they turned out to be an interesting pair!

One had been “remapped” previously, while the other was completely standard. The owner came to us after being left with dashboard warning lights following a remap that reportedly took just 30 minutes and the previous company unwilling to help him out. He also wasn’t convinced the truck actually had any more power and wondered if it was simply a case of “wishful thinking horsepower.”

After carrying out our diagnostics and reading the file, we were able to confirm that his instincts were spot on, the software was completely stock. It turns out his truck had gained exactly the same amount of power as a motivational sticker adds to a race car!

We corrected the issues on the first truck, got everything running properly and healthily, and then applied the same treatment to the second truck.

The result? Both trucks left with an additional 63hp and 135Nm of torque, running exactly as they should.

We may not be the cheapest truck remappers around, but we believe in doing the job properly, delivering exactly what the customer has asked for, and ensuring your truck remains reliable and healthy.

After all, your truck earns your living, is saving a few pounds really worth gambling on a 30-minute “performance upgrade”?

Before anyone asks, yes, this is a Twisted Automotive Land Rover Defender packing a Chevvy 6.2-litre V8 under the bonnet.

The customer wanted a Stage 1 remap along with the factory V-Max limiter removed, because apparently 118mph in a brick-shaped 4x4 just wasn’t quite enough.

These engines don’t have huge gains left on the table, but we still managed to free up an extra 30bhp and 30Nm of torque on top of the already healthy 455bhp. More importantly, the power delivery is now much smoother and more responsive throughout the rev range.

Will it break the laws of physics? Probably not. Will it now accelerate with even more enthusiasm while sounding like the end of the world? Absolutely. 🚀💨

The Volvo FH460 left with an extra 70 horsepower and 415Nm of torque, while the Scania P400 picked up an additional 300Nm of torque.

Safe to say they’re both breathing a lot easier now, although we’re pretty sure the fuel stations are about to notice they’ve developed a bit of an attitude. 😅

This Euro 6 DAF CF arrived with more AdBlue faults than miles of motorway left in it and with a boat to catch tomorrow, there wasn’t much time for sightseeing.

Running the smaller Cummins engine and ECU, we used genuine Cummins software to correctly map the AdBlue system out. There are other tools out there that can do the job, but they also come with a much greater chance of turning an expensive ECU into an even more expensive paperweight.

Fortunately, nobody likes surprise purchases, especially the day before export.

A few hours later, we left with a dashboard free of faults, a happy customer, and a DAF that’s now ready to start its next chapter abroad.
