Sometimes a poor repair can cause more damage than no repair at all 🫣
This Oaky is a full restoration project that presented with some paint blisters around the fuel filler - I was expecting the worst and was not disappointed 🥴 not only had they beaten and warped the quarter panel, but they'd also managed to grind off the body line above in more than one place.
Only one proper fix - new quarter panel 💪 new replacements aren't available, so a donor was harvested and then repaired (properly this time!)
I made the most of the panel being off and repaired the inner fuel filler skin and inner arch, before fitting the quarter followed by a new rear panel.
While replacement rear panels are available, they come with the light frames welded on the wrong side of the panel! So off they came to all be fitted correctly.
Major surgery complete, light at the end of the tunnel is visible 👀
