What An Epic Saturday!

Yesterday we spent the day at goodwoodmotorcircuit for the fantastic retroridesofficial Weekender Event. Possibly one of the most diverse collections of cars we have ever seen at an event, everything from Racing Cars, Enthusiasts Cars, Low Riders, Yanks, it was truly amazing to see so much in one place both on and off track.

For us the French cars were particularly special, especially the Clio V6 & the R5 Turbo 2.

Another Birthday & A Very Special Announcement! 🎈🎂🥳

Our very own W***y Boy turned 20 years old this week and also finished his apprenticeship, passing with Distinction. He is one of the only learners to do that in the last 3 years! We are immensely proud of him and his achievements, especially his attitude towards learning, which shows in the result above!

At TR Autos we have been big supporters of the apprenticeship scheme having had learners for the last 7 years!

Still Fixing Saabs!

As the years go on from the end of production of Saab Automobiles less and less are seen in ‘regular traffic’ and most models are falling into ‘enthusiast status’ now, which has meant that many of the specialist garages that once serviced the marque have diversified or sadly closed. Over the years we have seen many close and much of the specialist literature, knowledge and tooling lost. We are very lucky to still be exceptionally well set up to repair Saab Cars and hope to continue to have the support of owners of this fantastic marque.

Fixing Volvos!

As technology advances over the years it’s important that specialist workshops keep up with those changes. Just like this Volvo XC40 that was in with us last week, one of the oxygen sensors had failed, historically it would of just been a new sensor replacement and perhaps a battery disconnect and reconnect and send the customer on their way but technology to keep our engines running has moved on and now requires parameters to be reset and software to be updated. As licensed VIDA users we are able to carry all of this out on your Volvo & Polestar vehicles, meaning you aren’t tied to using the dealer!

Today Is Someone’s Happy Birthday! 🎂 🥳

Our very own West Country Girl Kaitlyn Anne turns 25 today. Kaitlyn joined us just over a year ago as a Parts Advisor and to help with Front Of House having a wealth of knowledge in the aftermarket parts sector. She is valued member of the team here at TR Autos and we are wishing her a very Happy Birthday with plenty of Krispy Kreme Donuts and a Roast Dinner cooked in house!

⚠️Important Update⚠️

As many of you know we have been closed for the last few weeks whilst the roof has been replaced, as you can imagine this has been a massive undertaking but the works are now nearly complete.

The team at TR Autos have used the last few weeks to make some internal changes to the building, renew the reception, kitchen, rest area and customer toilet, as well as areas of the workshop to help streamline processes and make working life easier. Kayleigh and myself would like to extend our thanks to the team for all their hard work and we are all looking forward to welcoming our customers back.

We will be fully reopen from Monday 16th as planned but please bear with us as the phones will be extremely busy and we also have a new member of reception staff starting!

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Now that the big man has hopefully made in home after delivering millions of presents around the world he is putting his feet up and having a well deserved break, as are we at TR Autos and we sincerely hope that all of our customers, suppliers and supporters are too.

2025 has had its fair share of ups and downs and we will be returning on the 5th January 2026 with recharged batteries, ready to get going.

A Weekend At The NEC Classic Motor Show!

And it didn’t disappoint! Having always visited the March Restoration Show it was the first time we had ventured to the prestigious Classic Show. You know you are getting old when cars you owned in your teens and twenties are suddenly on display at ‘classic’ shows. The highlight… seeing the Group B rally cars up close and personal holds a special affinity for us because of our appreciation to all things in automotive engineering and innovation. Well done to all those who exhibited, won awards and made the show spectacular.

A Little Saturday Roadtrip To Gasoline Juice…

When we heard that our friend Maff Swirl was organising a little September gathering at the fabulous ‘Gasoline Juice’ near Daventry we decided to get our butts in gear and get the 900 Talladega, which has sadly been parked in a hedge for the last 2 years back on the road so we could attend.

What a fantastic venue, with great people and great cars, our thanks go to Matt for a fantastic day out.
