Here it is, the latest addition to the workshop. A 2005 Aston Martin V8 Vantage.
6 speed manual, full service history and absolutely lovely. Which kinda means we haven't actually got anything to do with this car besides enjoy it.

We have a replacement for the Bentley. Can anyone guess what we've bought? Full reveal coming soon.

The Bentley has been sold.
As lovely as the car was to drive, whenever I wasn't driving it something decided to go wrong.
The Continental GT was the first Bentley released by VAG and perhaps was somewhat rushed into production. They have now become notoriously troublesome, mainly due to electrical faults mostly (in my experience) caused by dampness and water ingress. It felt like a constant uphill battle fixing it to stop the dashboard lighting up like a Christmas tree and worst of all fixing it consisted of mainly sat in it with a laptop. That's not the kind of working on cars we enjoy here at Petrolheads Workshop.
There is plenty of videos out there along the lines of "Can you buy a Continental GT for less than £10k?". I'll save you time. Yes you can but no you shouldn't.
So with that in mind, I made the decision to sell it. Did I lose money? Yes. Do I regret buying it? No. I've never regretted buying any car, only regretted missed opportunities. I bought it cheap, ticked that box and so now it is on to the next car in my wish list.

Project 3 of 7
Triumph GT6
A must-complete this year — April 30th to be exact.
The gearbox is finally fixed, so it’s full steam ahead before a spring sale.
It’s fought us throughout this restoration, but this will be its year to shine.

2026 Project Goals

Car 1 of 7 — Lotus Elise

Bought last year and back on the road for summer, but still very much a work in progress.

Plans for this year:
• Replace rear suspension arms and full alignment
• Battery, belts, and a proper service
• Cooling system refresh and seized fan replacement

It’s scruffy, rough around the edges but that’s part of the appeal.
Interior and bodywork tidy-up are on the list too time/ money dependant.

Also looking for wheels but they’re hard to find! Anyone know where best to look?!

7 years ago, this photo was taken with a plan.

The idea was simple: line the cars up and update the photo every year as things evolved.

Life, projects, and reality got in the way… but this summer, we’re finally doing it properly.

There are a few jobs to tick off first — then it’s time to recreate this shot and see how far the fleet (and we) have come.

Happy new year all! Glad to have you along for the journey!

After a few years of shameful neglect the 300ZX finally has a nice new garage to live in. And with that, we've decided it needs a little tidy up. Namely the underside. Over the next few weeks we'll be cleaning up all the wheel arches and underside, giving it a nice coat of underbody seal, dropping the subframe to delete the leaking HICAS, giving the brakes a good going over, changing various worn bushes and generally giving it a good check over as it's been sat about relatively unused for a few years now.

C2C 2025!
Another year, another Classic Triumph Coast 2 Coast Rally done!
This time around as you may know already we decided on taking 2 cars. The tried and trusted PI and the wildcard, a newly acquired Mk4 Spitfire.
In numbers;
2 cars
4 drivers
48 hours
1032 miles

This year was a great one. A new route starting at the Lakeland Motor Museum in the Lake District and finishing at East Anglia Transport Museum in Lowestoft. Around about 500 miles across the country on some great winding B roads almost non-stop through the night.
Both cars did brilliantly well. The PI being a comfortable cruiser eating up the miles and the Spitfire being the enthusiastic little jack russel scrambling on behind. Safe the say Rob and Paul had a comfier ride in the PI, whereas the Spitfire was rather noisy and hot in the summer weather.
Big thanks to Club Triumph for organising another flawless rally.

New wheels for the Spitfire!

Not long now before the coast to coast rally so definitely time for some new tyres, and why put them on the old steel wheels.... So in come some lovely new alloys for the Spitfire.
We've also been very busy sorting numerous other things on the car too.

The Lotus finally has an MOT! It did decide to blow some coolant out due to idling too long with a seized rad fan but once that was sorted straight through 😅

Slowly working through the list, next up is cure the squeaky belt and use it! 👊🏼
