Just a reminder to our previous customers about our free health checks and pre-mot inspections:
Motorbike Health check/ pre-MOT examination:
All services come with a FREE complimentary health check courtesy of T.C.W Motorcycle sales and repairs with an email print out.
During our health checks we check:
*Battery health
*frame health
*plastics
*tyres, rims, wheel bearings
*pads and discs
* oil levels (if applicable) and air filter
*Lights
*suspension
We also offer pre-MOT examinations, this covers:
*LIGHTS- ensuring they are secure, working and of correct legal colour.
*STEERING- condition and security of grips, handle bars and headset bearings.
*SUSPENSION- condition of swinging arms, shock absorbers, forks, seals and dampening effect.
*WHEELS- Tyre pressures, tyre condition, wheel condition, wheel security, wheel bearings and valves.
*FRAME- checked for signs of cracks, breakages, corrosion and overall condition.
*BRAKES- Hoses, pads/shoes, discs and callipers visual and physical inspection, checks for ABS light if vehicle is equipped with it.
*EXHAUST- securely fitted and decibel levels checked.
*SADDLE- locking mechanism to be checked.
*FUEL SYSTEM- checks for any leaks and/or corrosion in fuel lines and tank, 2 stroke tank will also be checked if applicable.
*HORN- tested to ensure it meets legal decibel requirements and is in good working condition.
*VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION- Number plate and vin number to be matched via logbook (logbook is required for this)
*VEHICLE LIGHTS- bulbs are tested to ensure they are all working, lights are checked to ensure they are secure, checked for correct legal colours.
*THROTTLE-road test required, (I am licensed to ride anything up to a 125cc, will be conducted in private car park)
We rate vehicle conditions on a red light green light scale, this is how it works:
🔴0%-30% - vehicle is unfit for road use and requires major repair.
🟠30%-60%- vehicle requires attention to become road safe, some components are okay but others will fail an MOT.
🟡60%-85%- vehicle will pass with minor defects, those not affecting the bikes safety or others.
🟢85%-100%-vehicle will pass an MOT with no major faults, down to mot testers discretion.
Our basic health check is free with every service, however, our MOT checks only cost £8 a time, both services come with an email report!
We are also happy to make a list of what needs to be repaired with a quote to carry out these repairs, this can be added onto your email report with a total quote for the repairs.
