A quick mid week update.
With 11 current big projects underway, swk is busy.
A couple are leaving this month and being replaced with 2 more 😬😀

Mitsubishi Evo 😀

This has been a big project for the team, carried out towards the end of last year. We’re now in the final stages before collection and getting it back out ready for the show season.

Here are a few pictures showing the progress.
The rear end was completely stripped out, with both rear chassis legs replaced along with the crossmember. Various additional repairs were also carried out to the boot floor and underside.

To finish, the underside has been treated, epoxy primed, seam sealed, black underbody protection and to finish, Lanoguard.

• Paint (Not essential)

• Carry out jobs from start to finish
• Work to a high standard
• Minimum 5 years body shop experience
• Not a one-trick pony, at least three strong skill areas
• Proactive, can think for yourself
• Work with minimal instructions
• Takes pride in quality
• Clean and tidy (yes, really)
• Reliable and consistent
• Bit of banter of course

A few piccys of the bonnet vents we recently restored.

* Stripped back all paint
* An adhesion promotor applied
* Applied base coat
* Ground back the edge of fins, polished to a shine going through different grades of sand paper
* Applied adhesion promotor again
* Finished with Clear coat

We have a small selection of our current projects moving forward this week.

* Subaru near completion.
* Modifying roof rack on a sprinter van
* Restoring some bonnets vent from the Oldsmobile.
* 350z rust repairs, little worse than expected, we have the go ahead to cut and weld 😊.
* MG Rover, stripping down ready for some big fabrication and paint work.

And thats just a handful of what we have going on.

A few snaps from a recent project that’s now underway.
We’re welding up the rear doors and replacing both rear side windows with sheet steel. The panels are sourced from a van, mainly because we’ve got a camper conversion company on site, so the metal is easy to get hold of, they’re similer in size, and they already have internal supports we can make use of, with some modifications for final fitment. Bonus.

Measure, make template, cut, trim 🤟 stay tuned for the progress on this one. Gonna look 👌

A big roof repair complete, had some head scratching along the way 🤪 but here we have the Chevy roof, finished in Raptor. (To hide the repairs of course) 😜😀

What was in poor shape and leaking, is now something solid again. In an ideal world, the entire roof would have been removed and replaced, but with given limitations to parts for this American beauty and budget constraints, we’ve found a solution that makes the roof strong, watertight, and safe. 🤟

The rear of the Mitsubishi Evo is looking way better now. The chassis legs and crossmember have been replaced, along with repairs to a few other areas.
The rear underside is fully primed, sealed, and undersealed in black, looking fresh 🤟

Next up is refitting all the components to get it back on its wheels, and back on the ramp to finish off the rest of the underside.
