All of our NRDS instructors are off the road attending our Bi-Annual NRDS Training Day! 📚

While many driving instructors stop learning once they qualify, we believe the best instructors never stop developing.

Today our team are investing their time to:

🚗🎉 FIRST TIME PASS 🎉🚗

Huge congratulations to Adam Jacques on passing his driving test first time today in Wrexham with just 1 driving fault – an absolutely fantastic result! 👏👏

Adam came to me just a couple of weeks ago looking for some help to get ready for his test. With only a little over a week to prepare, we crammed in plenty of hours and put in a lot of hard work to make sure he was test-ready.

Unfortunately, due to the short notice I wasn’t able to take Adam for his test, but that wasn’t a problem at all as he was able to use his own car, which he’d been practising in regularly. In many ways that familiarity helped him feel comfortable and confident on the day.

He proved to be a super quick learner with a fantastic attitude from day one, taking on board every bit of advice and feedback I gave him. Adam has been one of the nicest and most genuine lads I’ve had the pleasure of teaching, making every lesson enjoyable.

This result is thoroughly deserved and a credit to the effort and commitment you’ve shown throughout.

Good luck for the future, mate. Stay safe on the roads and enjoy the freedom – you’ve definitely earned it! 🚗💨

That line is so relatable. Learning to drive isn't just about manoeuvres: it's about managing nerves and second-guessing yourself at junctions.

Be honest… what’s the strategy for the morning of the big day?

It’s the age-old debate we see every week at NRDS.

One learner turns up fueled by a mountain of hash browns and beans, ready to conquer the world (or at least the roundabouts).

Another is clinging to a single black coffee and a prayer, convinced that even a bite of a cereal bar might be their downfall.

Nerves are a funny thing. Sometimes a full stomach is the anchor you need to stay focused. Other times, it just feels like you’ve swallowed a bag of vibrating marbles.

With decades of experience helping people get their license, we’ve seen both sides pass with flying colours. It really comes down to what makes you feel the most "you" when you’re checking those mirrors.

What was your pre-test ritual? A proper fry-up or just nerves for breakfast?
