Whistons Accident & Repair

Today we upgraded the front of a VW Transporter 6.1. Repainted the bonnet which we had to strip back to bare metal as it had previously had a bonnet bra fitted which caused the paint to blister. We also fitted this lovely looking front bumper from Transporter HQ which was really good quality! painted in 3 stages, 1st the body colour then the gloss black lower and the Matt black inserts in between the grilles the finished results show for themselves

We just want to say a massive thank you to everyone that likes, shares, tags and even vocally talks about our business it really does mean the world to us! Without your help we wouldn't have the business or the constant work. We have had a new more up to date spraybooth installation over the last few months which is finally up and running and the results speak for themselves! Thank you for your continued support

Unfortunately we didnt take any pics of this carbon bonnet to start with as it was in such a state we honestly thought it was scrap! It had been painted black to match the vehicle it was on but had that much primer and paint products on top of it that it cracked and crazed all over it. We gently warmed all the old paint and carefully stripped it back trying to not damage the weave of the carbon. Once we had done that we applied a fresh layer of clearcoat to seal it! We flatted that back so we could mask and paint the edges white to match the vehicle it is now being fitted to, another fresh coat of clear and the results speak for themselves
