🚑⚡ Our Biggest Project Yet!! ⚡🚑

We're delighted to showcase the latest project to leave our production facility at RVC, and our biggest project to date.

Over recent months, our team has worked tirelessly to design, convert and deliver a fleet of 40 Rapid Response Vehicles based on the all-new Ford UK Explorer EV for London Ambulance Service NHS Trust

This landmark project represents another significant step forward in the adoption of electric vehicles within frontline emergency services, providing paramedics with modern, capable and sustainable response vehicles to support their vital work across London.

Delivering a project of this scale requires a huge team effort, and we'd like to extend our sincere thanks to every member of the RVC team. From design, engineering and procurement through to production, quality control, logistics and aftersales support, this achievement is a reflection of the dedication, expertise and commitment shown across the business.

We would like to thank Rob MacIntosh, Paul Henry, Chris Rutherford and the rest of the team at LAS for their fantastic support and the seamless collaboration throughout the project. Working together closely has enabled us to deliver a fleet solution tailored to the needs of frontline teams, while supporting the trusts ambitions for a more sustainable future.

Today marks 3 years since Liam B***y, Dan Whittingham and Jamie Perry joined Richell Vehicle Conversions!

It's another special one for us, as we've been here right from the start. Looking back at where the business was 3 years ago compared to where it is today, it's incredible to see how far we've come!

From the early days of figuring things out as we went, wearing multiple hats, and helping build the foundations of the company, to now being part of a growing team delivering mission critical vehicles across the UK, it's been a brilliant journey to be involved in.

There have been plenty of challenges along the way, but even more achievements, and we're incredibly proud to have played a part in helping RVC grow into what it is today!

A massive thank you to everyone who's been part of the RVC journey so far, the team, our customers, suppliers and partners. But first and foremost to Nic and Lorraine Richell for giving us this amazing opportunity! None of this would exist or be possible without you 💚

Here's to the next chapter and seeing what the next few years bring!

The team are still flat out on what might be our most important conversion to date, here is a sneak peek at the progress so far.

Following extensive feedback about response times in rural areas (and one too many suspects escaping across muddy fields), one of our valued customers have decided to take matters into their own hands…

Introducing the UK’s first Rapid Response Police Combine Harvester™🌾
✔️ Full Battenburg livery (extra reflective for those late-night harvesting ops)
✔️ 360° blue light package
✔️ Reinforced header for advanced tactical engagements
✔️ Suspect containment area (formerly known as the grain tank)

Just waiting on final sign-off now… and possibly a slightly bigger parking space.

Our MD Nic Richell and Sales & Account Manager Liam B***y were out on the road this morning to visit some of our good friends at Essex Police CVU at Colchester United FC 🚓

We recently had the opportunity to carry out a full re-conversion on their Commercial Vehicle Unit Transit, and today was all about getting some fresh photos of the finished product in action! 📸

It’s always great for us to get out and about and see our finished builds out in the field doing exactly what they were designed to do. Seeing the vehicles operational and supporting frontline teams makes us incredibly proud of the work we do.

This project involved completely stripping out the previous generator-based power system and replacing it with a fully integrated auxiliary power setup. The new installation utilises lithium battery technology paired with the latest power management systems from Victron Energy, supported by solar panels installed on the roof of the vehicle, providing a far more efficient, reliable and operationally capable solution for the officers using the vehicle day to day.

The interior was completely gutted and rebuilt from the ground up, resulting in a clean, modern and highly functional workspace designed specifically for operational use in the field.

This particular build also carries a deeper meaning for us and the team at Essex Police. The proceeds for this conversion are dedicated in memory of the 39 Vietnamese victims of human trafficking who tragically lost their lives. It’s a reminder of the important work carried out by specialist units like the CVU every day.

A huge thank you to Sgt. Jason Dearsley and the Essex Police CVU team for the seamless collaboration and for allowing us to support our local police force and the vital work they do. 🤝🚔💚

Happy Friday everybody! We’re proud to share that Richell Vehicle Conversions has been featured in Essential Fleet Manager Magazine – Issue 1, 2026 💚

This editorial goes beyond the vehicles themselves. It looks at how and why we build vehicles for frontline fleets, from police, ambulance and fire to highways and emergency response, and the operational reality those vehicles are designed for.

No off-the-shelf shortcuts. No showroom solutions. Just real-world performance, built in-house, by passionate people who understand what frontline work actually demands.

Huge thanks to Essential Fleet Group Ltd for giving us the opportunity to tell our story, and to our customers and partners who trust us to deliver vehicles that perform when it matters most.
