Shelsley Walsh is the premier speed hill climb venue in the UK with competition weekends and the opportunity to hire the venue for corporate bookings, photo or filming shoots or anything you need. Hill climbing started at Shelsley Walsh in 1905 when the Midland Automobile Club had to find an alternative venue to Sun Rising Hill near Stratford. Since then, and war years apart, the Club has run hill

climbs at Shelsley Walsh ever since, making it the oldest surviving motor sport venue in the world. The hill continues to host the British Hill Climb Championship that sees cars hit 165mph in a thrilling weekend of speed, drama and incredible skill with the opportunity for spectators to get right up close to the action. We've a plethora of Porsches this weekend here at Shelsley for our Harvest Festival meeting in the Porsche Club Speed Class Championship (Saturday) and the NINEMIESTER Championship (Sunday) with GT3s, Boxters, Cayman GT4s (sound mega), 911s, 924s but all with plenty of schnell...

We may not be a long tortuous circuit in the Eifel Mountains but we are not really a 'Die Grüne Hölle' but more of a a 'Die Grüne Hille'

This weekend, September 12 + 13 we've our Harvest Festival racing get together as the shadows lengthen but the speed increases at this end of the 2026 summer season of racing.

Records and incredible runs up Shelsley Walsh have wowed the crowds this year but what has the final two days of battling the clock got in store...?

Tickets are from just £15 with MAC Members' entry free with their season tickets and Under 16s going free with an adult so wee you in the pits and up The Hill this weekend!

100 years ago today on September 4th 1926, Spider with Basil Davenport at the wheel took the outright hill record at Shelsley Walsh for their first time with 48.8 seconds.

The duo remained unbeaten for three years, eventually lowering the mark to 46.2 seconds with ingenuity, straight thinking and brave driving from Davenport. Spider really was a prototype car built solely for hill climbing and sheer speed - much like the modern cars from Gould, OMS, Empire, Force, DJ and AFS.

The car has passed through the generations, recently from David Leigh to Jim Edwards who has sympathetically rebuilt it but still races the car as it should in the hills of the UK - long may that continue so we all can enjoy one of the most popular cars in the paddock here at Shelsley Walsh.

It’s September the first and it’s a month full of action for you to enjoy at and around Shelsley Walsh whether you are a hill climb or a road car fan as we’ve five events to enjoy.

The biggest event will be the Harvest Festival race weekend with action up the hill against the clock as well as car meets with the Breakfast Club and Cars in the Valley. Also, there's the chance to drive Shelsley Walsh in your own car too during the Chill on the Hill and MAC 125 Celebration day - we have you covered!

Sept 6 - Breakfast Club

Sept 17 - Cars in the Valley
Sept 19 - Chill on the Hill
