We got Pro Street UK to deliver it back to him, and they made a fantastic job of that.

It's been a while since we posted on here, but that is because we are always busy with work!
Amongst all the other normal work we get plenty of classics in for various work, and a lot of it is major work. We don't just do transmissions on the classics. Engine work, carb and ignition tuning, exhausts, brakes and plenty more.
Here's a couple of the ones we had to do work on. The Buick is the one we had a couple of years back, this time for complete heads refurbished, and fit an Aldan suspension system and new wheels. As before the customer drove the car home (in biblical rain) but was very happy with how it now performed.
The Galaxie was in for a trans overhaul, and he drove home happy too.
The Vauxhall needed a lot of small and large jobs, like engine/trans out and cure engine oil leaks, new ignition system and carb, new fuel system from tank to carb, wiring, exhaust and suspension work. That is almost ready to go back to the customer after it has an MOT.

As i've said before (on the Buick post) we haven't got the room at work to do major welding jobs anymore. This neat little Honda Type R came in and failed the MOT on the inner sills (amongst other things..) and the owner wanted it to be done properly.
So we hooked up with Clifton Rain Limited to do this job properly for us. They didn't disappoint! They kept us up to date with pictures and tried to keep within the budget discussed at the beginning, but as there was more work than anticipated it went over a little, but not much considering the extra work done.
We found them very professional in all aspects and would recommend them if you want a job done correctly, whether it's a repair, or full blown fabrication/restoration.
These guys have deep roots in Hot rodding and as such can undertake pretty much most fabrication jobs.
If you need some fab work give them a call and tell them Penn Autos sent you....

For sale.
Gear vendors overdrive with TH400 adaptor. Fits the popular short shaft (not the 4wd one). Has done a couple of 100 miles from new, and 8 passes down the track in a Supra.
Get yourself the best overdrive you can buy for a paltry £1600 ono plus delivery. Can deliver to UK and Europe but anywhere else will be expensive. Leave me a message on here if you are interested.

Sometimes a job comes in for a couple of things and then you find it requires major surgery after someone bodged it badly.
This is one of these jobs. Pics below.
PS, don't call me to do this type of work! I'm just showing you that i can fabricate, but i have no desire to do this amount of fabbing. I have enough on RV1 to last a lifetime!

It's been a massively busy 2023 at Penn Autos with 100's of jobs successfully undertaken. With that said all the staff are taking a well deserved break from today.
Which leaves us to wish all of our customers past, present and future a merry xmas and a wonderful new year celebration.

The C2 Corvette we did lots of work on last year is up for sale. The owner is looking for £85k for the car. It is a superb example of the marque. 327ci small block Chevy, TH350 trans, Wilwood vented discs and 4 pot calipers on the front, interior reworked. Top notch inside and out.

Another vehicle ready for the drive home! The car came in on 5 cylinders and with 1st gear only! It also came with dual quads, and whilst they look great, when they are 60 years old they don't work so great.
So not only did it have a trans/converter overhaul, inc making the kickdown work (important), it also had a new air to oil trans cooler, radiator upgrade and a new single spreadbore carb that not only makes the engine work as it should, it allows a modicum of mpg when at light throttle. Of course when those big secondaries come on it uses a lot more fuel, but goes as well as it probably ever did!
I'm looking forward to the surprise on the owners face when i give the ole nailhead a bit of throttle on the test drive......

I've touched on this subject before, but it needs reiterating again. When laying up your classic/american/hot rod/race car (in the UK) for the winter DO NOT leave any forecourt pump fuel in it. You will regret it, particularly now most fuel is 10% ethanol!
What you need to do is drain the fuel you have been running during the summer, buy some Aspen R plus fuel and tip it in your tank, then run the engine till it's warmed up (you can go for a drive too!), then leave that fuel in till springtime.

Aspen has zero ethanol in it, and the R plus is 92 MON (99RON) rated, so no detonation when running for almost every classic out there!

At the moment the fuel is actually cheaper than forecourt petrol!
