Gone fishing..
Earlier today we were tasked to recover a Nissan Micra that had been involved in a 'minor' accident in the back lanes behind Burton.
We initially sent our 3t slidebed and it's pilot, Toby - but once he'd arrived with the vehicle, all was not exactly as it seemed.
The vehicle had left the carriageway (see first image), then rejoined it after a bend - before losing control once again, spinning off onto the opposite verge, overturning and rolling down the embankment into a copse of trees.
After speaking to the customer, they requested that we attend with my latest toy - our accident unit, in order to make recovery quicker and easier on the undergrowth it's already violently vaulted itself into..
We waited for a bit of welcome support arrived from the police - who helped close the main road, giving us the space to work safely.
We used the crane to fish through the trees, and pick the knackered nissan out and around them onto the verge - before lifting it clear and up onto the back of the waiting transporter.
The vehicle was then recovered into safe storage.
The driver had an incredibly lucky escape - but no where near as close as his passenger..
Onto the next.
