CUPRA Copper — one of the harder OEM finishes to get right. 🟠⚫

CUPRA’s distinctive copper-tinted diamond-cut wheels look fantastic, but they’re also notoriously difficult to replicate when it comes to refurbishment.

Unlike a conventional diamond-cut wheel, the copper appearance isn’t simply a coloured face. Achieving the right result requires several carefully controlled stages:

🔧 Fully stripped and prepared
⚫ Base finish applied
💎 Diamond cut on the lathe
🟠 Copper tint carefully applied over the machined areas
✨ Finished with a durable acrylic top coat

The challenge is getting that copper tone right. The final appearance is influenced by the machined aluminium beneath it, the tint application and the clear coat — meaning even small variations can become noticeable.

For that reason, we always recommend having both wheels from the same side of the vehicle refurbished together. That way, if there is any slight variation from the original OEM tint, both wheels on that side remain perfectly matched visually.

And these photos show exactly why the process matters. The contrast between the deep gloss black and that warm copper diamond-cut face is what makes these CUPRA wheels so distinctive.

💡 Why copper?

Copper has become a defining part of CUPRA’s visual identity, appearing throughout its badging, exterior detailing and interiors. Transferring that signature finish onto a precision-machined alloy wheel creates a fantastic effect — but also makes these considerably more technically demanding to refurbish than a standard diamond-cut wheel.
