TWO MONTHS WITH A LICENCE. ALREADY HAVING THE CAR TAKEN AWAY. 🚔

Some people pass their test and immediately decide they’re auditioning for Fast & Furious: Merseyside Drift.
The examiner has barely put the clipboard down and apparently they’ve become a professional racing driver.

According to the police update shared, officers responding to complaints of anti-social driving spotted this VW Polo travelling at high speed and being driven erratically. The driver had held their licence for just two months. Officers stopped the vehicle and seized it under Section 59.

Two months. You’re still learning how to drive independently, yet already giving the neighbourhood a reason to ring the police.

Passing your test doesn’t mean you’ve finished learning.
It means you’ve reached the standard to continue learning without your instructor beside you.
That empty passenger seat should mean more responsibility, not less restraint.

Build your experience by reading the road, keeping sensible space and recognising hazards early. Pressing an accelerator takes very little skill. Knowing when to ease off takes judgement.

Other people shouldn’t have to gamble with their safety while you find out that your confidence is several miles ahead of your ability.

You worked hard for your freedom.
Don’t turn your first few months of driving into an introduction to the recovery truck.

£50 fixed penalties handed out for dazzling drivers in clear weather 😅💸

Leaving bright red rear fog lights switched on during clear, rainy, or slightly misty nights is highly dangerous, as it aggressively dazzles the driver behind and masks the illumination of the brake lights. The Highway Code dictates that fog lights must only be used when visibility is seriously reduced to less than 100 metres. Traffic police are actively targeting motorists who forget to switch them off, issuing £50 on-the-spot fines for inappropriate use of vehicle lighting.

I've just driven from Basingstoke to Chepstow in a 26 ton lorry.
Im shocked and not shocked at how many drivers are driving in this fog with NO LIGHTS ON!! In some places visibility is down to just 20 metres!
Are you just a moron or do you not understand how invisible you are in this weather? Your automatic lights will not work, you must manually turn them on and off when needed.
This should be an instant ban for driving without due care and attention. The standard for driving is declining at a scary rate.
TURN ON YOUR LIGHTS IN FOG, RAIN AND DARKNESS!!!!!!

Curious about what happens during a driving test? Here's what to expect on test day.

An eyesight check 👀
You'll read a number plate from 20 metres away or 20.5 metres if it's an old-style plate.

'Show me, tell me' vehicle safety questions 💭
You'll answer 2 questions about vehicle safety. The 'tell me' question comes before you start driving and the 'show me' question while you're on the move.

General driving ability ✅
You'll drive on a variety of roads, but not on motorways, including 20 to 35 minutes of independent driving, following either a sat nav, traffic signs, or both.

Reversing your vehicle 🚗
You'll be asked to do one of the following: parallel park, park in a bay, or pull up on the right and reverse 2 car lengths. Your examiner will let you know which one.

Knowing what's coming can make test day feel a lot less daunting.

This was us driving on a mock test today, many times I see drivers driving too fast up this road. The kid was lucky, this time!
