Can you help identify the model year?

Early 1969 DS's in the USA resembled 1968 models but with many of the USA-required safety changes incorporated. In Europe, 1969's were quite different than 1968's. So something strange happened on US cars in this era. We speculate that the sudden requirement to add many changes that were imposed all at once by the US government caused production problems at the factory. We also found out that there were riots in Paris in this time frame that caused factory closures and production delays. These combined factors perhaps resulted in 1968's being sold as 1969's in North America."
It's a US-spec car and everything points to it being potentially a late '68 car
but, of course, we need this confirmed. Its an ID19b with red fluid and some items that aren't the same as European models...
Please try not to comment unless you are familiar with US-spec cars, as we're after specifics not maybes
