ples’ mutual love for all things automotive - not to mention our borderline obsession with things being done right. All of us have been in and around the car and detailing industry for a considerable amount of time. Between us we have over 30 years’ experience working on making cars look their best, and we have all been enthusiasts for a lifetime. Having all experienced a wide range of customer service, from both sides of the transaction, we believe we know how to offer our customers the best experience possible and always strive to do so. This business is not just a job to us, but a manifestation of all our individual desires to enjoy our work and working environment by doing what we love; being able to share the enjoyment we get from spending time in and on our cars with our customers, and looking after your pride and and joy the same way we look after our own. The biggest reward for us is seeing your reaction to the results on collection day. We would like to create a space at OTD where everyone can come to chat, learn and share a mutual passion; a place where we can offer a wide range of services, all completed to the highest standards, and create a strong lasting relationship with all our customers. We have created a fully equipped studio with dedicated detailing bays and a large clean room for Paint Protection Film installation, and even our own on-site "spotless water" - which is used throughout the process to ensure no watermarks and the best possible finish. We are always happy to receive visitors and chat about anything car related! If you require a long chat/quotation for work, we respectfully ask you to contact us first and arrange a suitable time to ensure the right person is available to give you their full and undivided attention for as long as required. Perfection should never be rushed.

We know our way around an F80 M3 by now...

We've been trusted with BMW M cars from all over the country over the years, and it feels like we've had about a thousand of these through the doors at this point. 😂

This particular M3 was actually an old friend.

A couple of years ago we gave it a full two-stage correction and ceramic coating. It had been well looked after since, but two years of actually using a car inevitably leaves a few marks.

And plenty of stone chips!

The owner decided it was time for PPF, but first the front end needed sorting. Our preferred bodyshop repainted the whole front end, before it came back to us for protection and detailing

We PPF'd the bumper, bonnet, wings, headlights, mirrors and A-pillars, along with the carbon roof.

We also did the B Pillars and a nice little load lip protector on the rear bumper)

Protecting the roof on these is something we're particularly keen on. As they get older we've seen carbon roofs suffering from fading, lacquer failure and general damage, and they're not exactly a cheap panel to put right. It costs double (or more) to fix with a bodyshop what can be prevented with PPF.

Having fitted so many F8x models, our PPF patterns for these cars are heavily customised from the standard templates.

Wing vents out. Bumper grilles out. Edges extended and wrapped wherever possible.

We'd rather spend the extra time taking some easy to remove trims off, than leave unnecessary joins and visible edges.

The carbon roof was treated the same way, with the film tucked and finished to make the installation as discreet as possible.

Everything is protected by our 12-year film warranty alongside our lifetime installation warranty.

As for the rest of the car, it really didn't need another major correction.

The work we'd done a couple of years ago had held up really well, so we gave it a light gloss enhancement to remove the few marks it had collected, followed by a fresh ceramic coating.

A few years older, but arguably looking better than the last time it left us.

And this time the front end is considerably better prepared for another few years of being driven properly. 😁

Some customers are very chill when they drop their car off.

This Mercedes GLE owner wasn't one of them. 😂

To be fair, he was a really nice guy.

He just knew exactly what he wanted, made it very clear that his standards were high and was definitely going to notice the little things.

There was also a tight time deadline due to an upcoming Road Trip....

No pressure for us then......

The GLE was with us for full front-end PPF, and with a customer this particular, there was absolutely no hiding a lazy installation.

As usual, our edges were extended and wrapped wherever possible, rather than simply relying on the standard patterns and leaving visible film edges where they didn't need to be.

Everything plotted in house , except the bonnet which we bulk fit for the best coverage.

The aim was simple - unless you're specifically looking for the PPF, you shouldn't really know it's there.

Thankfully, the collection didn't involve him walking around the car with a magnifying glass. 😂

He was impressed with the installation and we were very pleased to have lived up to, and hopefully exceeded, the expectations he'd set when he first came to see us.

As part of the package we also ceramic coated the PPF and gave the interior a complimentary clean before handing it back. To be fair it didn't need much, it was basically as new in there.

And the aftercare doesn't stop when the car leaves us.

There's a free post-installation health check included, along with our lifetime installation warranty for as long as the customer owns the vehicle.

So if an edge ever lifts or there's an issue with our installation, we'll sort it.

Virtually invisible installation.

Ceramic coated.

Interior cleaned.

Free health check.

Lifetime installation warranty.

And one very particular customer leaving very happy.

We'll take that. 😁

It's always nice when a previous customer comes back with their next car.

We first met the owner of this Mazda CX-60 when we carried out a full Paint Correction and Ceramic Coating on their Hyundai.

Fast forward to now, and they have added to their fleet with this brand-new CX-60.

Not a particularly common car...!

This time we had the opportunity to get involved from the start, before years of washing, motorway miles and general use had taken their toll.

It came to us for a New Car Detail alongside Front End Paint Protection Film.

As always, being new didn't mean we simply washed it and started applying protection. The paintwork was properly cleaned, decontaminated and inspected first, and everything was given a decent machine polish - giving us a clean base to work from.

We then installed self-healing PPF across the bonnet, front bumper, front wings, headlights and mirrors - protecting the areas that are going to take the majority of stone chips and road debris.

All of the patterns were plotted and cut on our Graphtec FC9000, with edges extended and wrapped wherever the panel design allowed. This is our standard.

Once everything was installed and checked, the PPF and the rest of the paintwork was ceramic coated to make day-to-day cleaning and maintenance that little bit easier.

There are different ways to approach protecting a new car, but for someone planning to keep and use it properly, getting PPF on the vulnerable areas before they become chipped makes a lot of sense.

And for us, having someone return after being happy with the work on their previous car probably says more than any sales pitch ever could.

Thanks again for trusting us with another one. 🙏🏾

One question we think every customer should ask before booking Paint Protection Film...

"Who will actually be installing my PPF?"

It sounds like an obvious question, but it's something many people probably never think to ask.

The reality is that while plenty of companies advertise PPF, not all of them actually install it themselves. In some cases, the work is subcontracted to another installer.

There's nothing inherently wrong with that.

We subcontract specialist services ourselves, such as bodyshop repairs, and paintless dent removal. We'd always rather use an expert in their field than pretend we can do everything ourselves.

But when you're choosing a company specifically for PPF, we think there are a few things worth considering before you proceed.

1. Who is actually doing the work?

If you've chosen a company because you've seen their PPF work, read their reviews and trust their reputation, it's reasonable to know whether it's actually their team carrying out the installation.

The person you've discussed the job with isn't necessarily the person who will be fitting the film.

2. What happens if there's a problem?

Perhaps you notice an edge lifting after collection or something simply doesn't look quite right.

Can the company you booked with inspect and rectify it themselves?

Or do they need to contact the subcontractor and arrange for them to come back?

If you contact us with an issue, you're dealing directly with the people who installed the film. We can inspect it ourselves and, where appropriate, can often rectify an issue the same day.

3. Do they have their own plotter?

For us, a plotter is a vital piece of equipment for a professional PPF installer.

We have our own plotter and software in the workshop, allowing us to cut patterns, modify templates, extend edges and immediately recut a panel if we're not happy with something. I'm not kidding when I say we have thrown away thousands of pounds because we aren't happy with the results.

If a pattern doesn't fit exactly how we want it to, we can change it.

If we make a mistake, we can recut it.

We're not relying on somebody elsewhere to supply another pattern or waiting for another installer to become available.

4. What about timescales?

When PPF is subcontracted, there's another business and another diary involved in the process.

That doesn't mean there will be a problem, but it does mean the company you've booked with doesn't necessarily have complete control over when the installation takes place or when an installer is available to deal with any aftercare.

There are some extremely talented subcontract PPF installers out there.

But there's also something to be said for knowing that every vehicle leaving the workshop directly represents your own name, workmanship and reputation.

Every car we install PPF on represents our name and business.

Our name is attached to the fitment, the corners, the finish and the overall standard of that installation.

We take a huge amount of pride in that.

PPF isn't simply another service we offer. It's our core business and something we've invested heavily in through training, equipment, software and experience.

With us, the people you speak to on Emails, phone calls and messages are the same people preparing your vehicle, installing the film, inspecting the finished installation and handing the keys back to you.

And if there's ever an issue afterwards, it's us you come back to.

Whether a company installs PPF themselves or uses a subcontractor shouldn't necessarily decide who you book with.

But we do think you should know before you make that decision.

So if you're comparing PPF quotations, ask the question:

"Who is actually going to be installing my car?"

This G82 BMW M4 had already been through quite a transformation before it reached us....

Fresh front-end paintwork, a new carbon bonnet (albeit it painted) and a very bright Sao Paulo Yellow body meant it certainly wasn't going to blend into the background.

Our job was to make it look as good as possible.

The rest of the paintwork needed some serious attention, so we carried out a multi-stage paint correction to remove the defects and get the older paintwork matching the freshly painted front end as closely as possible.

Then came the PPF.

Full front-end coverage using our 12-year rated, ultra-clear, ultra-glossy self-healing film.

As usual, we extended and wrapped edges wherever possible rather than simply finishing the film short of the panel edges.

The wing badges came off instead of relying on the standard pattern which leaves a gap around them, and the aftermarket carbon bonnet was custom fitted so we could get coverage right around the edges.

It takes longer, but on a car like this those little details matter. It's also the minimum standard we do here! 🫡🌞

We also painted the brake calipers to match the São Paulo Yellow bodywork, which sounds like it could be a bit much...

It really wasn't.

Against the wheels and the body it worked perfectly, a big transformation.

Once everything was corrected and protected, the paintwork and PPF were ceramic coated, and we gave the interior a quick once-over before collection.

Quite a lot of work went into this one, but the finished car didn't look overdone. It just looked incredibly clean.

Great car, great colour and, equally importantly, a genuinely great customer to deal with.

Definitely one of those cars that looked even better in person than it does in the photos.

Something a little different in the sky today...

On 12th August 2026, a solar eclipse takes place, with the Moon passing between the Earth and the Sun in a rare astronomical event.

Here in the UK eclipse viewing zone, we won't quite get the full show, but a partial solar eclipse UK 2026 will still be visible from much of the country, weather permitting.

Further north and west gets the better view, while parts of Greenland, Iceland and northern Spain will experience total solar eclipse (totality).

A pretty rare space event / celestial event excuse to stop what you're doing and look up. 👀

You may remember this numberplate from a GT3 RS we did last year.

The one we cracked the rear screen on 🤫

The owner is a great client of ours, and after receiving an un-refusable offer on his 3RS, has purchased this Discovery as a new work vehicle.

This is actually a van, it has no rear windows, no rear seats. Despite looking completely normal from the outside.

There's no great story here.

Just a standard new car detail for a great client, we also added some select bits of Paint Film to the gloss blacks, A,B,C Pillars

With only 77 miles on the clock to you can already see how heavily swirled and scratched they are... PPF stops that entirely.

Wearing APEX NANO™ ceramic coating after the necessary machine polishing, helping to protect the paintwork from the day to day contamination and making it easier to maintain

This Dodge Ram was a bit different from our usual jobs.

It came in on very short notice (1 day) because the owner wanted it looking its best for prom.

That's some extra late nights for us then....

The first challenge was simply getting it inside.

I know American pickups are big, but this thing barely fitted inside the workshop. There was not much room left to get behind it.

One thing that may surprise a few people was that the customer specifically asked not to have the paint ceramic coated.

The reason was because there are a few dents and scrapes that he is going to be repaired in the future, so it made sense to leave the coating until afterwards.

Instead, the focus was purely on making the paint look as good as possible.

After a heavy cut and refinement, with a little extra time spent on some of the rougher areas, the difference was huge. Check the sunshine walk around shot - the sun is the ultimate check of a detailers work.

This is s good time to remind everyone that the gloss everyone notices doesn't come from a ceramic coating.

It comes from the polishing and the correction.

Even without a coating, the paint looked fantastic once it had been properly corrected. A coating wouldn't have changed that

We also gave the interior a thorough clean before it headed off to prom.

Hopefully it enjoyed the well deserved attention.

Although with something this size, I don't think it was ever going to go unnoticed. 😄

This Cupra Ateca made me laugh a bit.

Not because of the car, it's actually a lovely thing in metallic black.

It was because most people bring us a car and apologise for how dirty it is.

This customer did the opposite.

The interior was already spotless.

Considering an interior valet was included, they really didn't need to, but they'd clearly spent some time on it. Fair play, they'd done a better job than some "professionals".

The extra time meant we could put a little more effort into the paintwork, which was the whole reason the car was with us in the first place.

It was only a few months old, but it'd already met a couple of enthusiastic hand car washes.

Unfortunately, enthusiasm doesn't always equal technique.

A few deeper swirl marks had crept in, particularly on the black paint which, as always, showed absolutely everything.

We talked through the options and the owner wanted to stick with a single-stage correction.

Could a two-stage correction have removed more?

Of course.

But not everyone wants or needs to chase perfection, and there's nothing wrong with that.

Our job is to get the best possible result within the budget the customer is happy with.

Once we'd finished, the improvement was obvious, and the metallic flake really woke up in the sunshine.

We finished everything with APEX NANO™ Alpha Quartz ceramic coating, so keeping it looking like this should now be a lot easier.

Hopefully it won't be seeing those hand car washes again any time soon... 😄
