Weber Wednesday time ⏲️ 😀 Usual sales of carburettors and associated parts keeping us occupied, had a bit of a run on 38DGAS carbs and parts for the Banger World final last week and now moving onto people wanting DGV carbs and parts with the 1600 world 🌎 coming up. Another site job for a regular estates customer. The gate had dropped and wasnt closing properly so gave it a little cut and shut to keep it going, we did a temporary repair on the post for this 6 years ago so wasnt a bad effort for it to last that long before needing more attention. We also cleared a existing fence line of old chain link fencing and installed 21.5m of 2m w profile pallisade fencing. Another job completed off grid using the Instagrid one power pack from TBWS - Welding Supplies.Big thanks to the help I had as we got the gate repaired, old fencing down and new fencing installed in a day which was a good effort as it was red hot and the ground was as hard as a Bulls 🦬 balls 🏀 😎 💪👌

Ride out to sunny Portsmouth today to fix a gate that had been driven into. It was Bent right out of shape and in a ideal world needed replacing but it's not a ideal world so I set about it with the grinder, big adjustables and welder and got it reasonably straight and able to be locked, replaced some of the twisted palisade pales and galvanised paint to protect it. All done fully mobile using my new Instagrid battery 🔋 pack supplied by TBWS - Welding Supplies .Not really a tech person as I struggle with a TV remote but this is a game changer, simple to use and only weighs 20kg so well easy to move about.

Big day for a lot of teenagers out there being GCSE results day and they are now deciding on their next move. Remember kids, if school goes as well for you as it did for me, 28 years later you too could have your own business and be putting 2 new sides in a 16 year old transit tipper, outside, on the floor in 34 degrees with a pub umbrella 🌂 for shade and a fan you got out of a skip blowing warm air at you. 😎 😀

Fabrication Friday 😀 Made these trendy drain covers recently for a customer that wanted to cover up the man hole and digester top on there property, the ground was built up and waited a flush top to the new ground level. Had a measure up, did some basic maths, rolled up the main rings in workshop before rolling strengthening straps and welding together then fabricating the lids. Powder coat finish in there chosen Ral colour and fitted. 👍

A few 90s retro motors we have been doing recently. 😎 The BMW is in for service, suspension and welding work to get it back up to mot standard, the base model Fiesta is in for welding and is well cool 😎 as its exactly what a small car should be with no pointless features to go wrong, MGF is another welding job, 25 years ago I hated these with a passion but as time moves on I think I would rather work on this than chase a Add Blue or electrical fault around a modern car and the Jag xjs has been down at our friends SPMMotorworks for some specialist Jaguar attention before coming back back to us for a few little bits to finish, Jag is a real beauty as a J*p import and is as clean underneath as on top 👌

Quick welding job for a local building company who were having difficulty with steels being designed at incorrect height. Nothing to strenuous here, just a simple plate under one end to allow steel to sit on top, welded together and Pad Stone height moved on other end. This was a grade 2 listed property so there was a lot of things involved with building control to keep it looking traditional to existing and surrounding buildings.

Fuel ⛽️ tank Friday. Here is a fuel tank we made recently for a 1918 Alfa Romeo. The original had corroded heavily and had lots of repairs from over the years so it was quickly obvious it wasn't repairable to any standard. Drummed up some help from my friend Mark Andrews @ Hogs Back Engineering and we set about chopping the old tank up making patterns and rolling up a new one. Re used as much as we could from the old tank to keep it original as possible, did some bashing, machining, welded it all together, pressure tested and delivered back to customer.

Footwear Friday 😃 when you have watched too much Yellow Stone and Landman then need some new work boots 👢 Check out these toe capped work boots from Ariat Work. Given them a good running in and so far they have withstood everything from hot 🔥 sparks and oil to thick chalky mud👌ideal for the Wild West that is Surrey 😃
