Range Rover with wobbly wheels 🥴

➖ Work had been done and the wheels weren't tightened up.
➖ Wheel nuts came off and nearly the wheel too!

🔹 Removed both from wheels
🔹 Inspect wheel studs for damage
🔹 Refitted the wheel and tightened to correct spec 👌🏻

🆘 Emergency call out

➖ Customer replaced diesel fuel filter, but after replacement the car wouldn't start

🔹 Quality identified the problem was air in the fuel system 💨

➖ These vehicles don't have Low pressure in-tank fuel pump
➖ All fuel is being drawn in by the High pressure pump on the engine

🔹 Primed the fuel filter, removed all air from the fuel lines 💨

✅ Successful engine start and it keeps on running 🔧

➖ Multiple lights on the dashboard and it wouldn't start

🔹 Carried out diagnostic assessment
🔹 Quickly found the problem to be the battery is discharged
🔹 Tested the alternator and found it to be Faulty ❌

❌ Failed alternator caused low Voltage and vehicle breakdown

✅ New alternator ordered and repairs due soon

➖ Customer reported very intermittent clutch pedal getting stiff and stuck

🔹 Inspected clutch master, slave cylinder and hydraulic lines
🔹 Couldn't find any obvious problem

🔹 However the clutch fluid was very dark and contaminated
✅ We carried out clutch system service and fluid power bleeding

🔹 Following the work the clutch pedal feels nice and operates smoothly

🔧 Clutch fluid also needs to be renewed recommend every 2-3 years

🔹 Earlier we diagnosed it with faulty Turbo solenoid which was causing low pressure turbo to not work

🔹 For reliability and whilst we are there we replaced both Low and High pressure turbo solenoid as well as the vacuum solenoid valve
✅ Ensuring proper reliability and performance

👌🏻 Road tested the vehicle and everything is back to normal again. Power all the way through the rev range

➖ Customer reported knocking noise from the rear left, the rubber bushing on the shock absorber softener and under load it's making a clunking noise 🔩
❌ That's definitely not what you want to hear transporting valuable customers

🔹 We attended bringing with us brand new OE shock absorber
🔹 Checked the shocks absorber and confirmed the problem
🔹 Quickly followed by replacing the worn out part and fitting a brand new one
🔧 All torqued to Merc specifications

✅ Road tested and all is well, no noises anymore 👌🏻

🆘 Another emergency call out to Legoland
🚗 Vauxhall - Customer suffered with loss of power and engine light - The AA have attended and diagnosed it with broken PCV diaphragm ➖ drawing in false air
❌ They couldn't make a repair on the spot and suggested recovery

🔹 We attended and carried out investigation
🔹 Confirmed the diaphragm was broken

Unfortunately we couldn't get the parts on the day as they are on backorder ✅ but we did great temporary repair to get the customers safely on the road and back home.

👨🏻‍🔧 Pretty brutal temporarily repair plugged the top vent holes to stop the false air being drawn in.
👍🏻 Customer is fully aware this is temporary solutions to get him to his home destination and he booked it in already to have a New part fitted

Following the road test and checking all is well the power has been restored and no more engine management light

💨 Low power and limp mode

💻 Carried out diagnostic and found faults for turbo under boost

🔹 No time was wasted on investigation, straight for the turbo to inspect it
❌ Really bad findings: Turbo failure - turbo shaft is broken

🔹 Oil is bypassing hot side and into the exhaust system
🔹 Cold side is not spinning

👨🏻‍🔧 Another quick diagnosis straight to the point and no unnecessary parts or time wasted.
