Cold weather affects electric cars in much the same way it affects fuel cars, performance changes, but it doesn't stop you driving!

In winter, EVs can see a 15-20% reduction in range, mainly because batteries work less efficiently in low temperatures and more energy is used for heating. Charging can also take a little longer when the battery is cold.

Keeping the battery well charged, allowing extra time for charging on longer journeys and using features like regenerative braking all help maximise range. Countries with far colder climates than the UK successfully run EVs year-round.

There’s a common myth that leasing only works if you do low mileage, but that’s not the case 🙅‍♂️

You can set high annual mileage on most lease agreements, and many providers will let you update that mileage mid-contract if your driving increases or drops.

It means your lease can move with you, rather than locking you into limits that don't fit your day-to-day use.
