Another one getting a much-needed de-carbon! 🧹💨

This Mazda 2.2 Sky Active came in with a serious build-up of carbon around the intake ports. With the manifold removed, you can really see just how much had accumulated! 😳

We got the walnut blaster out and gave everything a thorough clean, removing all that stubborn carbon and getting the intake ports looking much healthier again. 👌🏻

It’s amazing what can hide inside an engine that you simply can’t see from the outside! 🔧

Less carbon, better airflow, happier engine. 😎

This stunning Cayman GTS 4.0 came into the workshop for a fresh set of spark plugs. 🔧⚡

Not exactly your everyday plug change… but we certainly weren’t complaining about having this beauty in the workshop! 😍

A proper sports car, and always a pleasure to work on something a little bit special. 👌🏻

🔧 Throwback to this Alfa Romeo MiTo! 🇮🇹

A few months ago, this little MiTo came into us for diagnosis on a misfire. Found to be a faulty MultiAir unit.

We removed and replaced the MultiAir unit, which meant stripping down the top end to gain access and get everything apart properly. 🔩

Definitely a little more involved than your average service! 😅

A few photos from the job, including the new parts arriving and the engine stripped down ready for the work to be carried out. 👌🏻

💨 Defender breathing easy again! 💪

This Land Rover Defender came in needing a bit of TLC. The intercooler had split, causing a loss of boost, and the air conditioning condenser had definitely seen better days! 🛠️❄️

✅ Repaired intercooler fitted
✅ New A/C condenser installed
✅ Back to full boost and ready to keep its occupants cool on the road (or off it! 😎)

🚗🚜🚛 Not your average day at Border Garage... 👀

One of the best things about our job is that no two days are ever the same!

We don't just fix cars... we've had everything from cherished classics and Land Rover Defenders to American pickups, campervans, performance cars, agricultural machinery and plenty of other weird and wonderful motors through the workshop.

If it fits through the door, we'll probably have a go! 😆🔧

We love the challenge that unusual vehicles bring, and it's always satisfying getting them back out on the road (or field!) doing what they were built for. 💪

This one came in with an engine noise that definitely wasn't going to fix itself...

After stripping it down, we found the culprit... a snapped timing chain! ⛓️💥 👨‍🔧🚗

If your car starts making unusual noises, don't just turn the radio up! 🎵🙈 Get it checked before a small problem becomes an expensive one.
