Another busy week at Bavarian Motor Specialist. 🔧
We started the week with a Land Rover Freelander TD4 in for a new flywheel, clutch and turbo. The vehicle will also be returning for a transfer case replacement. The previous mechanic suspected the rear prop shaft bearing, but after further diagnosis we found the issue to be the front driveshaft bearing inside the transfer case, which had completely failed.
We also had an older Mk1 Skoda Octavia in for a turbo replacement along with a full inspection to make sure everything else was in good working order.
Another Skoda came in for an MOT, part service and general health check, ensuring the vehicle is running safely and reliably.
An Audi A1 arrived with a suspension knock from the near side front. After diagnosing the issue, we replaced the top mount and coil spring. While carrying out our inspection, we also noticed the brake pads were worn low and the brake discs had seen better days, so we recommended replacing those as well to keep the vehicle safe on the road.
A Mini One also came in for a full service and general inspection. During the inspection, I advised the customer that the timing chain had started to rattle. It isn’t a major issue yet, but enough for us to recommend addressing it soon. We also found a leaking rocker cover gasket. The customer will be bringing the car back so we can carry out the repairs and keep the vehicle running safely and reliably.
Another productive week keeping customers’ cars running smoothly. 🚗🔧
