Nice little diagnostic job to end the day today and one very lucky and happy customer. This vehicle came into us with intermittent engine management light and power loss. So we got to work diagnosing the issue and look what we found!!
Two teeth missing from a very overdue cam-belt. The belt had skipped 1 tooth and luckily we were able to spot it and rectify it in time before a major engine failure. Proof that Regular service and maintenance does save money in the long run. Have a great weekend everyone I know this particular customer will

So this vehicle turned up unexpectedly yesterday morning in limp mode due to a blocked dpf filter. We managed to get it straight in and carried out our on the car dpf cleaning service and had the customer and his car back on the road in no time. catching it in time saved this customer on what could of been a much more costly exercise had we of had to remove for full clean off the car. This could of ended in a massive fatal accident had we not have known what we were looking for. The vehicle had been for a full inspection at another well known local independent days earlier and the customer was handed a beautifully presented inspection sheet with various advisories amounting to thousands not all of Wich was necessary. The customer opted to visit us for a second opinion leading us to finding this extremely dangerous and common problem not spotted by previous inspection. It’s safe to say this vehicle was left with us until it was made safe using genuine parts giving the customers piece of mind and a safe vehicle.

BIG things are happening at the moment.
Some of you may be aware of the plans for a new and improved AK automotive HQ where we will be carrying out our usual maintenance and repair work alongside our brand new pending class 4 and 7 mot station. Well! they’re in action the buildings are up and nearly ready for fitting out. Stay tuned for more updates and moving dates ect. In the meantime we are still available to cater for all your motoring needs the AK team look forward to welcoming you all to the new premises very soon
