Decided it was time to finish the service on the Bentley as there were no invoices for what had been done previously. What a bu**er of a job the spark plugs are 3 1/2 hours in and I am starting to put it back together. Not surprisingly it appears the two hardest to get at plugs are a lot older than the rest.

A new arrival this morning should be fun. Not only does it have all the fun of a '70's Citroen it also has a 2.7 Maserati engine. Some rather tatty bodywork but it starts drives and stops so not all bad.

Spot the difference . Kia Sedona that has been randomly overheating for sometime. At last the answer became clear with a water pump that wasn't actually doing much pumping.

A merry christmas and prosperous new year to all my customers. This year I will be having a proper break for Christmas closing tomorrow lunchtime (christmas eve) and reopening on the 5th of January. I will still have my mobile on but will be in France so unable to sort anything until my return.

As most will of heard by now the powers that be have decided our lovely link road that has served us well for over 50 years must be ripped up and replaced with a new modern road surface. Not only is this at massive expence and will need far more maintenance in future it will also cause all us businesses considerable grief for 3 months over the summer. At present we have no idea how things will work with access so free collection and delivery back is probably best. As the year draws to a close I thought I would have a look back at a few of the cars I have had this last year. Has it really been a year since I bought the Hotchkiss on the 1st of January. The rotten old Rover came and eventually went along with the Jensen, both at a loss. The Lancia is still here although it has been away for some months having new floor pans fitted. I found another Turbo R Bentley at a very good price which I just don't seem to have the time to finish just yet. The Hearse is still running well with some new wheels and the Renault 25 Turbo just needs using. Finally I added a Maserati to the fleet again. It has been a few years since my last one but this Quattroporte makes up for it. Next year will hopefully see some of my fleet returning to France to a property I am buying out there.

After having to get a customer's car recovered from Taunton the other week at a rather hefty £240 I thought it would be an idea to get a bit of kit to do it myself. I had looked at recovery trucks but they are all very expensive and limited to light weight cars only. Then I found this ex AA van that used to be stationed in Guernsey. It has less than 60k miles and the towing gear has barely been used. I just need to figure out how it all works.

Finally driven the Hotchkiss. There is still a lot of work to do but I am pretty pleased with how the rear number plate came out. I really need to see it in the dark but it's ok in the garage
