🔧 Workshop Focus: Can-Am Traxter HD9

This HD9 came into us with a customer concern that the vehicle was repeatedly going into limp mode at certain engine revs and speeds.

We carried out a diagnostic check and found stored fault codes relating to Injector 1 and valve clearances.

On further inspection, we found the valve clearances were overly tight, so these were adjusted to the correct specification. This made an improvement, but the vehicle still wasn’t performing quite as it should.

After carrying out a road test, the Injector 1 fault code returned, confirming that there was still an underlying issue affecting performance.

Our recommendation was to replace the injector and then carry out further testing to ensure the vehicle is running as it should.

Another example of why proper diagnostics and thorough testing are so important — sometimes there’s more than one issue contributing to the problem. 🛠️

After a day of getting your quadbike dirty, it’s important to give it a thorough jet wash and remove any built-up mud — especially around the radiator.

Mud and debris can restrict airflow through the radiator, reducing cooling efficiency and potentially causing your quad to overheat. 🌡️

🧼 A good clean after every off-road adventure can help prevent problems before they start.

🔎 Fault Finding Begins…

We’ve had a Traxter HD8 brought into us with an electrical issue. The customer reported the EML warning light coming on, along with the vehicle going into limp mode.

Diagnosis is now underway, and we’ve started by carrying out a full scan for any stored fault codes. This should give us a better indication of where the issue may be coming from and help us narrow down the cause.

🔍 We’ll be working through the diagnostics and testing the relevant systems to get to the bottom of it.
