Vauxhall Crossland in today for a wet belt replacement🔧‼️

We had this car in a few weeks back for MOT and Service. During the service we checked the wet belt as we do on all PSA wet belt engines as they are easily visible through the oil cap🧐

We noticed some cracking, the vehicle is also at the replacement interval. So having spoke to the customer we decided not to drain the oil as we have to drain it during the belt change and got it rebooked in today for the belt replacement👍🏻

It’s a good job we did, as you can see the belt has servere cracking, fraying and delamination. The oil strainer is also becoming quite blocked so we caught it in time!👏🏻

We’ve been very quiet on here with posting the goings on in the garage which are going to be back on the ball with starting with this one🔧‼️

This Ford Fiesta got recovered to us last week with an overheat/coolant loss issue. Luckily the customer had good sense and turned off the car and towed it home👏🏻

Upon investigation we found that the water pump had collapsed and shattered the impeller!🫣

We didn’t get any after photos🤦🏼‍♂️ but all the debris was removed, brand new water pump, timing belt and tensioner, new alternator drive belt was fitted along fresh coolant and was good to go👍🏻🔧‼️

Is you timing belt and water pump due for replacement? If your not sure just give us a shout and we can check the replacement intervals for you, it’s better to be safe than sorry!📞

MOT Tester

Here at Brampton MOT Centre, we are looking for an MOT tester who is comfortable testing Class 4 and Class 7 vehicles in our busy family run garage!

Job details:
This is a full time MOT testing position on a busy test lane, working Monday to Friday 8am-5pm. You would be carrying out MOTs in accordance with DVSA testing standards.

This position wouldn’t require you to be carrying out any repair work, but on occasion, some light diagnostic work I.e any issues ranging from the diagnosing warning lights to under vehicle checks for noises etc.

Requiements:
- Must have a Full UK driving license
- Full UK bike license is desirable but not essential
- Valid Group B MOT Testing license (class 3, 4, 5 and 7)
- Valid Group A MOT testing license (class 1 and 2) is desired but not essential

Perks:
