🛑 WHEN WAS YOUR BRAKE FLUID LAST CHANGED?

Brake pads and discs get plenty of attention, but brake fluid often gets forgotten.

Over time, most brake fluids absorb moisture, lowering their boiling point. Under heavy braking, that can affect braking performance — even when your pads and discs are in good condition.

📅 Brake fluid is commonly changed every 2 years, although the interval varies by vehicle. Always follow your manufacturer’s service schedule.

Topping it up isn’t the same as changing it. A brake fluid change replaces the old fluid and bleeds it through the system using the correct specification for your vehicle.

🔧 ANOTHER BMW 320d IN FOR TIMING CHAINS

Another BMW 320d in with us today for a preventative timing chain replacement.

The customer wasn’t convinced the chain had much slack… but once we got into it, the video told a very different story! 👀

We replaced the timing chains using genuine parts, backed by our 2-year warranty. ✅

While the car was with us, we also sorted a couple of other annoying issues:

🔹 Repaired a faulty rear parking sensor
🔹 Replaced the rear door locking mechanism after the internal spring failed

The failed lock meant that when the door was opened, the lock would drop down. If you tried to shut the door again, it wouldn’t close until you manually lifted the lock back up.

Timing chains sorted, parking sensor working and the door locking properly again. 👌

This Ford Focus 1.5 diesel came into us with an oil leak from the camshaft carrier.

The camshaft carrier was removed, thoroughly cleaned and correctly resealed before being refitted.

Another Land Rover fitted with the 2.0 Ingenium engine in with us for a full timing chain replacement.

🔧 2019 Ford Fiesta – Wet Belt Replacement

This Fiesta came into us after developing oil pressure issues.

Deterioration of the wet timing belt can contaminate the engine oil and restrict the oil pickup, leading to low oil pressure and potentially serious engine damage if left unresolved.

For this repair we carried out a full wet belt replacement, inspected and cleaned the oil pickup system, and replaced the engine oil and filter.

🔧 BMW Oil Leak Traced & Found

This BMW came in with an oil leak, so we got it inspected and tracked the problem down to a cracked timing cover.

The fuel pump had previously been replaced elsewhere, and unfortunately the timing cover had been damaged during the work, causing the oil leak.

✅ Fault traced
✅ Cracked timing cover identified
✅ New timing cover ordered
✅ Back with us shortly to get it leak-free again
