The driver heard a loud bang and ignored it.
Then ignored the clanging noise when turning.

On inspection, the coil spring had completely collapsed.
Luckily, the tyre wasn’t damaged — this time.

The bigger concern?
Fragments of the broken spring are likely now somewhere on the road, posing a risk to other vehicles.

If you hear unusual noises, especially after a bang or when steering, don’t ignore it.
Get it checked early — it’s safer, and usually cheaper.

Bad weather driving? A few simple checks can make a big difference. 🌧️🚗

With the UK weather taking a turn, we just wanted to share a few reminders to help keep you and your family safe on the roads.

Wet and cold conditions put extra strain on tyres, brakes, batteries and visibility — and a few quick checks can reduce the risk of breakdowns and accidents.

✔️ Check tyre tread and pressures
✔️ Make sure lights and wipers are working properly
✔️ Top up screen wash
✔️ Slow down, leave more space, and avoid harsh braking

Which Brands Use Wet Belts?

A little PSA from us to you 👇
Wet belts should ideally be changed around every 5 years, even if you haven’t done many miles. We’re seeing more cars arriving with belts that have snapped, and sadly it often means a new engine — and no one wants that surprise!

We know Christmas has just been and money is tight for everyone, so this post is simply to help you avoid a big bill later on. A belt change now is far cheaper than an engine replacement.

New Toyo front tyres and tracking check at the excellent Pug Spec garage, always get amazing service from this place. Would definitely recommend.
Found one of the track rod ends is starting to move a little, so I deferred the tracking adjustment until the new rods are here, ordered from autodoc.eu, should be here soon 🤞🏼
