Some very sad news this morning, our very good friend and life long member of Bolton slot cars, Derek Howell has sadly passed away this morning at the grand old age of 95. R.i.p legend.

Friday nights results 1/24th production sports class, motors limited to 4500kv. 12 members where present so 3 groups with 3 minutes on each lane twice, alot of action packed racing and some close results, Martin E had a car failure in his last sector but fixed the car and returned to the race, it was to late to challenge Steve for the win. Brushless Production racing last night with cars running a mixture of 3800kv and 4500kv motors.
Mark was top qualifier (a new class lap record) , Martin E gained the race win followed by Mark in second place and Gordon in third who was visiting us.
Brushless F1 racing next time at the farm.

We raced our first Open class of the year yesterday with thirteen racers including three visitors - Shep, Dave and Callum.
Everyone raced brushless cars of varying specs up to 11000kv. It was an action packed night with lots of close racing.
Steve ended up 18 laps behind the leader after his first heat due to damaged track braid which also damaged his cars braid and the problem affected other racers to a lesser degree. After a short break we managed to fix the braid to resume racing again. Steve managed to claw back most of his lost laps but ended up fourth. Martin E had a hat trick - top qualifier, fastest heat time and he won the night. Mark was second and Shep (visitor) gained third place.

Last race of the year at Bolton and we had a 3 man team race, with each team member having 10 minutes on each lane. Alot of fun racing use hawk 7 motors. Team Mutly made up by Steve Garry and Bob where victorious and win the Stuart Urmston memorial trophy 🏆 .

1/24 F1 was raced at Bolton last night with a few members not able to make it over. All cars bar one were running brushless setups. Steve qualified first, followed by Mark with Adrian a good third on his first visit to the club.
It was super-close between Steve and Mark all night… but Steve won with less than a lap between him and Mark in second. Luis pushed Mark and Steve with some fast and consistent driving, winning one of the heats and eventually finishing third. Steve got the fastest time of the day with Adrian second, the only two to break into the 6.5’s.
