Drive a 1.5 diesel car or van? It's worth a quick look at this 🔧

The 1.5 diesel used by Peugeot, Citroën, Vauxhall, DS, Fiat and Toyota (1.5 BlueHDi) and by Ford (1.5 EcoBlue) was built from about October 2017 to January 2023 with a thin 7mm cam chain. Over time it can stretch, and left long enough it can fail. Engines built from 2023 have a stronger 8mm chain from the factory.

It's in a lot of everyday vehicles — Vivaro, Berlingo, Partner, Combo, Transit Connect, 208, 308, 3008, Astra, Focus and more — and plenty of campervan conversions too.

You don't have to wait for a rattle. We fit the 8mm upgrade kit, so you can get it sorted on your terms.

When the bike rack takes the hit… 🚲💥

This motorhome came to us after a road accident pushed the bike rack straight through the rear panel. Rather than just patching over it, our team opened the wall up from the inside, rebuilt the framework with new timber, repaired and refinished the panel, then refitted the rack.

Inside and out — done properly, so it’s strong and watertight for years to come.

We're an Approved Workshop Scheme motorhome and caravan garage, and our mechanical side is growing fast. We're looking for a qualified technician who takes pride in the job and gets on with it without needing to be chased.

The work: servicing, diagnostics, brakes, suspension, cambelts and mechanical repairs, mostly on Fiat Ducato, Peugeot Boxer, Citroën Relay, Ford Transit and Mercedes Sprinter bases.

You'll need:
✅ Level 3 NVQ/IMI in light vehicle maintenance, or equivalent experience
✅ Your own tools
✅ Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
✅ Full UK driving licence
✅ To be reliable, trustworthy and someone who takes ownership of the job
Bonus points for: C1 on your licence, van experience, an MOT tester licence

You'll get:

Is your motorhome's timing belt on your radar, or is it something you keep meaning to look into?

Most manufacturers set a mileage and time interval for it — and because motorhomes don't always rack up the miles, it's often the time interval that quietly creeps past due first. If it fails while you're driving, on a lot of base vehicles that's not just a breakdown, it can mean serious engine damage too.

It's on your maintenance schedule for a reason — worth a check through your handbook or service history if you're not sure where you stand.

A lot of garages steer clear of timing belt jobs, especially the wet belt type — we don't. Our 4-poster ramp makes it a straightforward job for us, so if yours is coming up (or overdue), get it booked in.

Strong knowledge of electrical systems and gas/water systems.
