Things to do when visiting us: Who knew there was a at The Bowes Museum?? The famous painting is a scene of the Grand Canal in Venice painted by none other than Giovanni Antonio Canal, aka Canaletto! The painting apparently depicts a crocodile ๐ too. The beautifully curated collection also features works by Greco, Francisco Goya, Jean-Honorรฉ Fragonard and Franรงois Boucher, together with items of decorative art, ceramics, textiles, tapestries, clocks and costumes, and objects of local historical interest.
Only 30 miles from Cote Bridge, the museum is a fun and fascinating day out for all the family. For more info and opening times etc. visit the website: thebowesmuseum.org.uk
