New Traffic Commissioner appointed in Scotland:
Sharon Clelland was appointed by the Secretary of State for Transport as a Traffic Commissioner for Great Britain. Ms Clelland joins the Traffic Commissioners from her role as Head of Legal Services for the Police Investigations and Review Commissioner, the independent body providing regulatory oversight of policing in Scotland.

DVSA UPDATE: Prohibition Clearance Notice.

From 2 February 2026, you'll receive your prohibition clearance notice (PG10), automatically by email. The email will be sent directly to the operator’s email address linked to the DVSA VOL system. (Vehicle Operator Licence on-line)

DVSA LAUNCH NEW LIGHT GOODS VEHICLE STRATEGY, with vehicles used in Construction, and vehicles used for Transporting Cars being their first focus point.

However, DVSA have stated that the new “enforcement” approach will include taking robust action where appropriate, including issuing fines, sanctions and further penalties to any sector utilising Light Goods Vehicles.
