Also me: Forgets my name is written all over the back of the board. 🤦‍♂️🤣

In all seriousness, this rear shock absorber was leaking badly and had lost its ability to control the suspension properly. As you can see from the photos, it's covered in oil and unfortunately that's a straight MOT fail. ❌

Shock absorbers play a huge part in:

🔧 NOT ALL WATER PUMPS ARE EASY TO REPLACE 🔧

This vehicle is fitted with an internal water pump driven directly from the cam gear, meaning replacement is far more involved than simply swapping an external pump.

To carry out the repair correctly we had to:

✅ Replace the internal water pump
✅ Drain and flush the cooling system
✅ Carry out an engine oil change
✅ Pressure bleed the cooling system
✅ Refill with the correct coolant to manufacturer specification
