Remembering Richard Turner
On Thursday the 4th of September Sun Lane Garage will be closed as a mark of respect to honour a true gentleman, friend and former owner Richard Turner.
When I first came to work here in the late 80’s I found more than just a workplace, Richard was more than a boss, he was a mentor and good friend. Under Richard’s guidance I discovered what it meant to take pride in honest work, to treat people with respect and to carry myself with integrity in both business and life. He showed me what it meant to build something that lasts, with skill and character.
When the time came for Richard to retire he entrusted me with the business he had built. Owning the garage is not just a career milestone for me, it’s a daily reminder of his faith in me and the example he set, for which I’ll always be grateful for. His influence will always be present here, in the work we do and the standards we uphold.
So many customers often ask after Richard, and it’s nice to share he how he still bobbed in for a chat and a catch up.
Thank you Richard for believing in me, for shaping me into who I am today and for leaving behind a legacy that I’m proud to carry forward. Your influence and example are still very much a part of Sun Lane Garage today.
You'll be missed by all who knew you.
