First day on the 1996 MGF has been a productive one.
The obligatory wash and 3 stage paint decontamination stages carried out along with the engine bay getting a gentle clean up and finally the soft top roof given a deep clean.
Once back inside, up on the ramp, the wheels were removed and these along with a fresh set of new tyres, I drove down to Silver Wheels in Ferndown and left them there to be refurbished.
Drove back to the unit and started on carrying out the paint correction multistage polish to remove swirls, light scratches and various areas of lacquer that have seen some damage as you’d expect on a 30 year old car.
The MG was booked in about a month ago for various work to be done so over the following week I’d arranged for Andy from Dentz to go and take a look at the car at the owners house to see about sorting out various little dings and dents and book the work to be done while the car was with me.
Andy arrived today and worked his magic with a total of about 11 dings taken out of about 4 different panels.
While he was working on one area of the car I kept busy carrying out the multi stage polishing and by the end of the day I’ve sorted all the passenger side, bonnet and front bumper.
Final job was removing the two seats as the interior will be having a deep clean along with the seats.
