Adam here again!

I know a few people have wondered where I've been this week and I've had a few calls about jobs I need to finish (sorry all). Last Tuesday I managed to put the chop saw at work into the top of my hand (school boy error) I carried on working, moved house and did an auto jumble but then managed to get an infection in it and had gunk leaking out my stitches, seeing as it meant I was going to be out of action for a week anyway I did what I've been wanting to do for a while and I've taken a much needed break! Currently sat writing this at the bottom of Ben Nevis!

Hope you've all had a great week and not missed Rollo and me too much, I'll be back in the workshop Monday!

Hi everyone, Adam here.

Hope you are all well!! So I'm sure as a lot of you have noticed over the last month or two there's been some changes going on at the workshop and Jacob has been taking a bit more of a front roll and doing a lot more of the posting and there is a reason for this!

The last few years in the workshop I won't lie have been quite challenging for me and this last year especially I've had a lot of things going on out of the workshop as well as inside, my mental health has been horrendous and I found myself not being able to cope with the day-to-day running of the Workshop. It's never ideal running your own business but having anxiety attacks every time a phone goes off or your emails ping through certainly takes it's toll.

Jacob initially came back in with the intention of running the camper side of the business with me and reducing my stress and workload. What I have realised while he's been here Is that at present I don't want anything to do with it!

I guess the question people are asking themselves is what does this mean going forwards? Well it's quite simple. Anyone who is currently booked in with myself It will be business as usual. Anyone I've spoken to given dates to or have arranged to have the work done I will be doing, but going forwards I personally shall no longer be taking bookings for work, anyone looking for one of our trademark top quality conversions then I recommend you get yourselves over to Cubs Custom Campers give them them a like and a follow maybe even a share to your friends and then get booked in for your work. It's absolutely amazing to see Jacob go from my apprentice 10 years ago to starting this venture and carrying on the kind of work that I managed to build a wonderful reputation out of.

He is going to be taking on my unit so nothing's changing and I will be floating around until at least Christmas to help him with any little bits, finish my jobs and help with the transition into making his company super successful!!

Just want to say a massive thank you to all my supporters, all my customers that have had work done, the people that worked for me and help me build my company from nothing to the boom It became after covid, all the people that helped me behind the scenes old and new without the support I've had over the years i definitely would not have gone as far as I have!!

This business page is still going to be monitored by both myself and Jacob while the transition is happening. But we do ask that anyone going forward if you can then get in contact with Jacob directly at Cubs Custom Campers Ltd

We also have for sale this classic 1970s VW beetle that we have been restoring for a customer, they've decided not to go any further with it so it's now looking for a new home.

As you can see from the pictures, it's had quite extensive work done including all new heater channels, lower a pillars in a wheel arches rear clip, floor pan repaired, etc. We've had the engine running but are just at the point now where it's being plumbed in properly, front brakes have been completely rebuilt given new shoes and wheel cylinders, new battery, new window rubbers and various other new parts.

This is a really hard one to price as is because it has had hours of welding and work gone into it to get it into this stage. Where at present we've just been asked to invite offers to See where it sits.

We also have this rather large transit minibus for sale.

It has been self-converted into a camper van By a previous owner layout, works really well as it is but would probably benefit from having a toilet fitted In the room at the rear. Awaiting further details from the owner but they are looking for offers around £6750. Again this vehicle is ready to view at all workshop.

Selling on behalf of a customer.

T4 caravelle 2.5 TDI 102 BHP model, really rare spec has factory central locking but side doors need looking at, twin sliding doors, electric windows, electric mirrors, single Captain chairs with arms, rear seats, middle set are all fully removable rear triple needs unbolting to take out, rear triple also comes with armrests that can fold out in between seats, the creme de la creme of its spec is that it is a full aircon model front and rear! I've owned a lot of T4s, I've been into them for a long time but this is the first one I've ever seen in this spec. Engine is on 259,000, had Cambelt done and serviced a month or two ago, Just had four brand new tyres fitted on the alloy wheels. The tailgate is one of the straightest I've ever seen with no rust, head lining front and rear has just been retrimmed as it was sagging.

Bad points it does have some rust in it, eventually It is going to need steps and arches looking at both sides and the arches on the rear are a bit crusty, there is also rust on the a-pillars and above the screen that will eventually need something doing with it, the bonnet looks like it has had a bonnet bra at some point and it is caused the paints to fade and the radio doesn't have Bluetooth (by far my biggest bug bear).

Looking for £3750 ono. Available to view at our units now. Mileage may increase as in use occasionally.

Last week we had a fiat Ducato motorhome in for some work.
Unfortunately their gas tank straps had rotted away and gave way. Luckily there wasn't any real damage caused! Very lucky. Gas tank full and banging along the road 😬

Fortunately they had managed to get it strapped up to continue their trip away until they got back to the island and down to us.

Gas tank replaced, new stainless steel straps and a check of pipes and connections. Ensuring gas system was still working as it should and no leaks. Very happy customers and off again to enjoy their van knowing it won't happen again and it's all safe.

Look at that nice new shiny tank compared to the old one 😍

Well this summer is feeling very british. Weather can't make its mind up 🤣
But in the work shop we've been very busy with all different types of jobs.
Firstly had to do a complete rebuild on this T25 on the inside.
It's had a completely new 12V and 240V electric set up, new floor and a rebuild of it's original conversion. When it got taken out it had fallen apart so it had new panels made, rebuilt and fit after making it structurally secure as well as a new safe gas system fitting.

We've had a already converted T6 in for electrical issues. What we found in truth was fairly frightening. Battery not secured down, cables with cuts in from chafing on metal work and poorly done connectors that fell apart. We sorted on this and got everything safe and fully working.

We've had a number of solar panel jobs in on a T4 motor home, Toyota hiace and T5s.

Speaking of T5s we've had a fair few window replacements in. Factory windows leaking.. thank you VW for the work 🤣.

Got a full custom build on a Mazda bongo coming up, few more solar panels and window jobs in the new few weeks.

If you're looking to have any work done, don't hesitate to get in contact for a quote. Feel free to pop down to see what we do too.

Adam is majorly busy with his restoration work which is amazing to see. You go Webby! Smashing it. Look out on the page for updates from him.
