"El Ganador" The very best bike builders in the HD network (worldwide) went head to head to create some stunning machine this year! This is one of the two UK entries into the competition. "El Ganador" (King of Kings 2020 machine) Club Style is a fast-growing custom theme in Europe, which is what we ran with, but with our own twist. Club Style can be a blend of many things: paintwork that is very in your face – we’ve used a lot of hard candies, the metal flake in the paint, and serious patterns on El Ganador. Club Style is based on performance and that’s why we went with Ohlins suspension, chain and sprocket conversion, 2-1 exhaust system, upside-down forks and more. The wheels are from a 2009 883R to give the old-school mag’ alloy wheel look. The tank is a King Sportster tank, where it retains the overall Iron shape but is physically bigger. The rear frame rails have been filled and smoothed out to leave clean lines. Biggest modification would be the side panels; we wanted to achieve the lines seen on the FXR model, which had triangular panels. We took the standard metal ones and added more metal to extend them. Along with the longer 1200 Custom fenders, the new seat and chain conversion, the rear of the bike is really clean and slender. Apart from the stunning paint, all the work was completed in house. Almost £10,000 spent (parts, labour and paint) on top of a brand new 1200 Roadster (another £10k). Now available to buy with just 311 miles on the clock... Super Rare and Super Cool!

Harley-Davidson: No more Sportster from 2021

Rumours have been around for a long time, but these have now been confirmed: No more new Sportster vehicles in Europe from January 1, 2021. On this date, type-approved motorcycles must also meet the Euro 5 standard.

With Euro 5, the emissions regulations are tightened. According to Harley-Davidson, these cannot be met with the air-cooled V2 engine of the Sportster models. The Sportster models have been around since 1957. The basic design of the current engine is, it is hard to believe, from 1986. This engine has been continuously developed. The most important thing in terms of emissions was the replacement of the carburettor with gasoline injection for the 2007 model year.

A whole family of models has now been removed from Harley’s European range: Iron 883, SuperLow, Iron 1200, Forty-Eight, Forty-Eight Special, Roadster, 1200 Custom and Super Low 1200 T. The Street 750 and Street Rod 750 models will also be sold discontinued in Europe...
