Last month we were asked by an old customer if we could help with a cosmetic refurbishment of the td5 xs defender 90 station wagon. They had owned it 20+ years and they want a refresh of the paint and body work. We worked with them to advise which parts to replace and how deal with the corrosion to give them longevity in the vehicle as well as the finish they were looking for. In this case we replaced the o/s front wing, new doors and tub cappings . All prepped and ready for its repaint in Oslo blue metallic. The results speak for themselves.

This week we have been on with b and c post replacement on this 2004 110 defender station wagon. The post bottom and the sill was completely gone, as was the c post on the other side. We have replaced them with galvanised replacements, which were t-wash, etch primed and then put in to Epsom green. We also replaced the lower side panels on the tub as they are a common area that corrodes over time.

From unfinished project to MOT.

we recovered this 1992 defender 200 tdi 90 station wagon out of a garden of the owner, having been started though lock down and then stalled due to bereavement. We worked with them to meet there requirements and wishes to complete the project on time and on budget.

We carried out a full body restoration and refinished it back into Rutland red , with new doors and wings. we fully rewired the new galvanised bulkhead and chassis for reliability. We inspected the chassis work which had already been completed. to finish off a complete retrim with a new headliner.

It’s turn out fantastic and the classic colour scheme is a real head turner.

This month amongst our project work , we have been preparing a defender 130 overlander for some big trips this summer. With the usual service inspections, suspension and brake work , along with some new 8x16 steel wheels finished in white.
Also we recommissioned a series 2 which had been off the road some a number of years, which need a number of different items doing including, fuel pump, brakes, tyres and electrical work. Resulting in a lovely patina soft top series, ready for summer.
