This weekend was the final event of the year at Silverstone for Motor Racing Legends; celebrating the 1st complete season of the Generations Trophy. We had 2 MGB’s on the grid, Rick & Joe Willmott as well as Simon & Cassius Kidston who were enjoying their first ever race weekend.

We also had Rick & Joe Willmott out in ‘The Gomm’ in the Woodcote Trophy, Shaun Lynn & Andy Wolfe in BHL 124 in the Stirling Moss & Marc Gordon in his XK150 in the HRDC

The weekend wasn’t without issue after a last minute engine change for the Kidston car after a head gasket issue during testing after which all cars performed brilliantly with Rick & Joe bringing their MGB home 3rd overall.

After its recent appearance in the Freddie March Memorial race in the hands of Gregor Fisken at the Goodwood Revival, XKC006’s new Custodian enjoyed a beautiful drive from our workshops in East Sussex over to Europe today where it will begin a new chapter in its illustrious history.

EXPERIENCED CLASSIC CAR UPHOLSTERER/COACH TRIMMER

THE COMPANY
CKL Developments is an award-winning classic car restoration and racing business based in Battle, East Sussex. We specialise in Jaguar-powered cars from the 1950s and 1960s, combining historically accurate craftsmanship with the exacting standards required for some of the world’s most important classic cars.

THE ROLE
As our trimming operation continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced upholsterer and coach trimmer to join us full time. This is an opportunity to apply your outstanding craftsmanship to historically significant classic cars and to help shape the continued growth of our Trimming department.

THE REQUIREMENTS
To succeed in this role you will need to demonstrate:
• Proven skills, knowledge and experience of vehicle upholstery and coach trimming
• Accurate workmanship with strong attention to quality and detail
• The ability to manage multiple jobs while working accurately to agreed targets and deadlines
• Ability to troubleshoot common fitting and finishing issues
• The ability to work confidently both independently and as part of a team
• Experience in restoring, repairing and refurbishing existing upholstery
• Experience with industrial sewing machines
• Experience with bespoke/high-end products
• An interest in historical accuracy
• Carpentry experience would also be an advantage but is not essential

The Colorado Grand - a 1000 mile tour of some of the best driving roads the Rocky Mountains has to offer. The Colorado Grand is a charity event that happens every September. Mark Hews attended the 37th edition this September driving & co-driving a Ferrari 250 GT SWB & our Pebble Beach winning Jaguar D-Type.

Looking back at what was a magnificent weekend of racing at the newly launched Motor Racing Legends London Historic Trophy which went off with a bang on Friday afternoon with 2nd instalment of the Generations Trophy all MGB race of the year in which Rick & Jack Willmott put in a superb drive placing 4th overall & 3rd in Class.

We had an array of fine machinery lined up for the Stirling Moss & Woodcote Trophy in the form of Lister Chevy BHL124, Lister Knobbly BHL105, the original Le Mans lister, ‘The Gomm’ Special & a Jaguar XK140 FHC. BHL124 was driven by Max Lynn & Andy Wolfe to a fantastic 3rd place in Stirling Moss & ‘The Gomm’ Special finishing 4th in Woodcote & 3rd in Class driven by Rick & Joe Willmott.

We also had Marc Gordon running his Jaguar XK150 to a class win in the HRDC.

Thank you to Motor racing Legends for bringing the show to town.
