It is with great sadness that we inform our loyal customers and friends of the passing of Ken Thompson, the founder of Priory Garage.
After a long battle with cancer, Ken passed on the 29th of March, surrounded by his family.
Ken and his wife Barbara first started priory garage many years ago, and worked there up until their retirement. Although this didn’t stop them from still playing a massive part in the garage, as the business was passed on to their daughter Amanda and her husband Dave. It is down to Ken and Barbara that Priory Garage is the successful business it is today.
All are welcome to join us on the 7th of May at 10am for the service at Babworth Crematorium to celebrate Ken’s life.
Instead of flowers we are asking for donations in Ken’s memory to Bassetlaw Hospice. A truly amazing place that cared not only for Ken but for us as a family too. Donations can be made using the donation box located in the office at Priory Garage, at the service on the 7th of May or by clicking the link in the comments which will take you to Ken’s tribute page. The tribute page can also be used to share photos, memories, or to pay your respects.

As a mark of respect the garage will be closed on the 7th of May 2025 to honour Ken’s life.
