🔧 ENGINE REBUILD COMPLETED AT DEUTSCH AUTO CENTRE! 🔧

Another engine brought back to life! 💪

This vehicle came to us suffering from a serious bottom-end knock, requiring a complete engine rebuild.

Our team carried out an extensive overhaul, including:

🔩 Replacement crankshaft, connecting rods & pistons
🔩 Oil pump
🔩 Main bearings, big-end bearings & thrust bearings
🔩 Full timing chain kit, including chain, rails, guides & tensioner
🔩 Complete cylinder head rebuild and thorough cleaning

🔧 Today’s Progress at the Workshop – Deutsch Auto Centre Ltd

Another busy day in the workshop with some serious engine work underway!

🚗 Audi A4 – CDNC Engine
The engine has been fully rebuilt with a new timing chain kit, bearings, pistons and more. It’s now in the process of being fitted back into the vehicle.

🚗 Audi A5 – Engine Rebuild
We’ve removed the crankshaft from an Audi A5 that came in with bottom-end knocking. As you can see in the picture, the big-end bearing has suffered damage.

The crankshaft is now being cleaned and prepared for a full engine rebuild, including a replacement crankshaft, oil pump, pistons, connecting rods and more.

🔩 Cylinder Head Rebuild
We’ve also got a cylinder head that has been fully stripped and cleaned, and is now being carefully reassembled.

We carry out all types of engine repairs and rebuilds, from minor issues to complete engine overhauls.

Nice one! 👍 A light skim on the Transit 2.2 diesel head should give you a lovely fresh mating surface ready for rebuilding and refitting.

Before it goes back on, a few important checks:

Head thickness: Make sure it’s still within Ford’s minimum specification after skimming.

Valves and seats: Check for leakage, wear and correct valve recession.

Camshafts and followers: Inspect for wear and ensure everything is correctly timed.

Head gasket: Use the correct thickness/specification.

Head bolts: Fit new stretch bolts where specified and follow the correct tightening sequence.

Block face: Check it’s flat and thoroughly clean before fitting.

One important thing with the 2.2 diesel: Depending on the engine variant, cylinder-head machining limits can be quite strict.

🔧 Audi Q5 – CNCD Engine Rebuild

This Audi Q5 came into the workshop following a major overheating issue, severe enough to cause plastic ancillary components to melt onto the engine.

After carrying out our inspection, we found several major faults:
• Blocked oil cooler
• Faulty water pump
• Faulty bypass valve

The combination of these failures resulted in severe overheating and extensive engine damage.

We replaced the damaged engine with a fully reconditioned CNCD engine, along with:
✅ New water pump
✅ New oil cooler
✅ New bypass valve
✅ New oil separator

Everything was thoroughly checked and tested after installation, and the Q5 is now back up and running exactly as it should — running like a dream. 🔧🚗💨

Another major engine job completed and another Audi back on the road.
