Had the little Lui back in for some work on the rear brake this week before the Big 7 .
By design the only adjustment is done by moving the cable in the clamp , which is very annoying .
New shoes and rear hub seal replaced , and then a modification to the rear end to allow the fitting of a standard cable adjuster to make life easier in the future .

Had this little gem in for some work , prior to its maiden voyage across Europe to the Vespa World Days in Rome .
Forks to be fitted , panel adjustment, cables to be renewed , and a change of clutch, gearing and oil .
Along with a little wiring and a few other little odds and sods .
We would like to wish the owner ,Jake , Bon voyage and safe, reliable travels and look forward to following his progress .

I do love getting a parcel , and not remembering what the hell I have ordered.
It’s like Christmas , but without the crappy wrapping paper .

And so it seems , some people have taken us up on our free inspection deal .
We have taken a few bookings , one of which came in today .
This lovely old Lambretta popped in for a check up before the Big 7 rally .
The tyres were somewhat aged , and showing the signs of it too . 19 years old , is way too old for a safe ride .
MOT regs state ten years , but subject to the make of tyre , and the type of riding it gets , 10 years may be 9 years too long . So please check yours out .
The carb , apart from flooding out fuel when the fuel tap was turned on , was somewhat , how shall we put it ? A little polluted , with a healthy dose of stale fuel and tank internals .
A new float and needle and a spa weekend in the ultrasonic tank should hopefully revive it .
Finally the front end . Coil bound springs had left the front end somewhat soggy under braking .
A new set of progressive springs and buffers and all will be well in the world .
A Vespa due in tomorrow for a check up and sorting out some spares before its trip to Europe , so hoping we don’t find anything nasty , fingers crossed .

Scooter Center have sent out a reminder that there has been a recall on the BGM Pro shock absorbers from 2024.

The recommendation is not to continue use until it has been changed.
