In all fairness this gearbox mates in to the car way better than the Renault 5 and the clio and even better than the Megane

The reproduction panels are from
They do require the holes for the wiper motor,washer jets,bonnet stops cutting in which takes some time but over all a good copy

O2m conversion first part to the puzzle counter bore the adapter plate to fit to adapter plate to the engine. Then alighn the gearbox to the adapter plate using a sleeve on the input shaft that slots in the crank shaft then use alighnment bolts to get the input shaft to crank shaft alignment correct

Next post I will show you the new clutch and flywheel combination i have come up with

This has had a long list of snags but it’s turning in to a nice car,the attention to detail is wot makes a car complete in my eyes if it doesn’t look right it isn’t right in my opinion

Here is a follow on from yesterday this is an engine that has been rebuilt not long ago and done 300 miles apparently wot a mess

Warn out valve guides
Warn out valves
No spring seats fitted
Valves aren’t lapped in
Warn rocker shaft hasn’t even been cleaned
Ring gaps not been set
Piston to bore clearance is massive
Crank has been re ground even though it was bent and the mains were ground to 0.75 anyone in there right mind would say it’s scrap

It blows my mind wot people do wot a waste of someone’s money

Think about wot people you use to get work done on your car people who paint alloy magnesium carburettors are completely f………g stupid to make it look good it’s even inside in places 🙈

Who thinks it’s right to re fit a snapped throttle shaft go to the extent of making it look like nothing has happened by grinding all the sharp edges of just get a new one.nothing is set up right miss match jetting that would never work and the throttle pump was never set up

There is going to be loads of posts on this bodged up car showing you why it’s worth getting someone to do it properly and that noes wot there doing
