Something interesting we’ve noticed in the workshop recently is that more E-Type owners are asking about the same three upgrades.

Rather than major restoration work, many conversations are now about making the car easier and more enjoyable to use regularly in modern driving conditions.

The three upgrades that keep coming up are:

• Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI)
• Five-speed gearbox conversions
• Cooling system improvements

None of these are about changing the character of the car — they’re simply ways of making an E-Type a little easier to live with today.

Quality costs once. Not twice - It’s a principle we see proven time and time again in the workshop.

At first glance, most classic car work can look similar — a service completed, a part replaced, a problem solved. But with classic Jaguars, the difference between a general workshop and a specialist approach usually reveals itself over time… and often in cost.

Bespoke Jaguar E-Type commissions, shaped around intent.

This Speedster project is a clear example of how we approach bespoke builds at E-Type UK. Rather than following a template or fixed specification, each commission begins with a client brief and is developed as a coherent, purpose-built car.

For this Speedster, aesthetics were the starting point—refining proportion, stance and visual purity—supported by engineering development, fabrication, mechanical integration and bespoke trim work carried out in-house. Body structure, drivetrain configuration, interior ex*****on and final detailing were all considered as part of a single, unified programme.

Unlike restoration, bespoke work is not about returning a car to a fixed historical moment. It is about defining where an E-Type should sit today—balancing originality, usability and engineering integrity. Some commissions are aesthetic-led, others are engineering-led or purpose-led, shaped around how the car will be driven and experienced. What unites them is discipline: nothing added by accident, and nothing left by default.
