Ellis Commercials - Ellis & Son Ellis & Son Vehicle Builders Limited specialise in the manufacture of Commercial Vehicle Bodywork, Metal Fabrication, Welding and Vehicle Body Spares.

Ellis & Son are a thoroughly modern vehicle body building company and yet are steeped in history. Founded in 1943 by Mr. Isaac Ellis who was apprenticed as a wheelwright and coachbuilder. Isaac initially established a market manufacturing and repairing trailers and equipment for the local agricultural community in Kent. Isaac was later joined by his son Ernest in 1947, when they widened the scope

of the business to service the requirements of the rapidly modernising transport and distribution services that were expanding in the area. As Ellis & Son quickly established a reputation with local hauliers, transport companies and truck dealerships they outgrew their original site and moved to premises at Five Oak Green in 1962. The move away from traditional timber products led to the purchase in 1972 of a local metal fabrication and welding company to bring in expertise in these areas. The emphasis on craft skills has been carried through the years, resulting in a well trained, highly experienced and loyal workforce. Ellis & Son moved from Five Oak Green to Horsmonden before moving into their fully refurbished premises at Longbrooks in Brenchley where we currently operate from. We have worked hard to build and maintain a reputation for manufacturing good quality products backed up with excellent after sales service.

Hooper and Sons Ltd are a family run business who have been specializing in all aspects of groundwork since 1972. Their impressive fleet of over 20 commercial vehicles and specialist machinery offer Groundworks and Civil Engineering, Transport and Haulage as well as Hard and Soft Landscaping services across the South East of England.

Hooper and Sons Ltd recently took delivery of three 3,500kg IVECODaily Chassis Cabs with a 10’ 9” Tipper Body. The vehicles come with an Automated HiMatic Gearbox, Safety Lighting, Heated Electric Mirrors, Cruise Control, Fog Lights and 7” Touchscreen Infotainment Bluetooth DAB Radio. The vehicles feature with a 3 Year/100,000m 2XL contract to keep the vehicles out on the road.

We would like to thank Hooper and Sons Ltd for their continued and loyal business. These specialist IVECO vehicles will fit straight into their impressive fleet.

This 3-platform staircase was beginning to rust and needed refurbishment. The landings were replaced with galvanized treadplate and new structural support was introduced, the step treads were replaced and the stringers were stripped and repainted.

Flat bed manufactured and fitted to an Iveco Daily 7T chassis supplied by Northern Commercials - Iveco. The chassis was extended, plywood floor with lashing rings and rope hooks installed, and a plastic toolbox and a bespoke storage tray were added underneath.

Making the most of the space available.
Storage on a flat bed can be difficult when you need to make the most of the space available for transporting materials. By adding a locker one side and a storage tray, a bespoke product using our CNC plasma, the customer can optimise space to the maximum.

The entire side was removed from this horsebox, with the pieces in good condition reinstated and new pieces cut and fit to replace what was damaged. The side was given a fresh coat of paint, gas struts were installed on the door and the vehicle was returned to the customer.
