Big one on this Audi a5

Which unfortunately required a clutch and flywheel
And as our customer is always on the road she asked if it could have the timing belt replaced at the same time so it was only off the road for a couple of days

So we got it all sorted and all jobs complete

A very rare simple straight forward service for us today, as much as we love the technical problems we usually cover it was nice to just have a nice easy Friday

Full service on this transit along with a front caliper change that had started to seize on the pistons

Looks like it was due

We fair got through some motors today

First was a leaky oil filter that had rotted through on an old fiesta
Then onto some rear brakes that had worn down to the metal on an Audi not straight forward as the locking wheel key was missing so we had to use our special tool to get them off
Then a full service on a Renault megane and judging by the state of things it was well overdue
Then we carried out some mot repairs on a c max to get it through its test

Then lastly we replaced a faulty brake caliper on a bmw

Propshaft centre bearing replacement on this bmw x1 today
Safe to say the old one was past, explains the shudder when taking up drive and changing gear
All sorted ✅

Spent a Few hours today removing the cylinder head off this little 3 cylinder corsa, unfortunately this one has serious failure due to being overheated
Cylinder head will now be away to the engineers for refacing and we will add another post on the rebuild

Giving some love to this 2004 avensis, 22 years on the road has started show but on the grand scheme of things only
Minor issues, all sorted and back to 100 % health

Some from yesterday, here we are sorting out a leaky crank seal on this Kia sportage

As you can see this had been leaking for some
Time so first job was to clean up the area before carrying out the repair

All sorted along with a new auxiliary belt as it was contaminated with oil

Onto the next big one
The infamous n47 timing chain

Here simple straight forward repairs really just a large job to carry out said repairs

We could hear the audible rattle of the chain particularly on start up

So off with the gearbox out with the engine new chain fitted along with all sprockets and guides
2 fresh engine mountings that were badly worn
Brand new oil filter housing with cooler

And lovely clean oil with a new filter and job sorted

Something a little different to squeeze in before our next big post

Here we are removing some broken wheel studs from this Peugeot expert, we suspect these were either over tightened and snapped the last time the wheel was off or it had been left loose by whoever had it off previous

We managed to sort one of the 4 broken studs at the side of the road and as we was only
Moving a few hundred yards we limped it into the garage to do the rest

All sorted with a retap and some replacement studs

You probably won’t have seen anything from us for a while, we have been been on with a couple of fairly big jobs and haven’t had chance to post them up, so here is job one timing chain, crank shaft pulley and carbon clean on a sh**un that had lost all its power
The mess in the inlet manifold was fantastic check out the pictures
