🚛 Little update from us at T M Norris Transport!

Firstly, we hope everyone’s having a great Bank Holiday weekend! 🙌

It’s been another busy few weeks for us, with plenty of miles covered and a great variety of vehicles moved up and down the country. 🚗🚐

We’re now getting ready for what will be a very busy week ahead, with the new 76 registration coming out on 1st September! 🚘✨

I’ve even had my little helper out with me collecting some of the new 76 plates, getting them ready for delivery to customers Tuesday! 💪🚗 He’s certainly starting young! 😂

The new lorry has certainly been getting put to work alongside our existing vehicles and trailers, giving us more flexibility and allowing us to take on a wider range of jobs.

It’s great to see how far things have come, and we really appreciate all the continued support from our regular customers, new customers and the other transporters we work alongside. 🙌

We’ve got plenty going on behind the scenes too, and we’re always looking at ways to keep improving and growing while continuing to offer a reliable and professional service.

⚠️ Something we’ve noticed from talking to customers lately…

It’s surprising how many people aren’t sure what they should be checking or asking when booking someone to transport their vehicle.

And surprisingly, from conversations we’ve had within the industry, even some people carrying out transport and recovery work aren’t always fully aware of the different rules and requirements themselves. 🤯

There’s a lot more involved than simply having a transporter and picking up a vehicle.

So we thought we’d share a few things worth checking before handing over your keys:

✅ Are they properly insured to transport your vehicle, and can they provide proof?

✅ Do they have the correct Operator’s Licence if one is required?

✅ Is the transporter legally within its weight and payload limits with your vehicle loaded?

✅ Are they following the correct tachograph and drivers’ hours rules where required?

✅ Is your vehicle properly insured while being loaded, transported and unloaded?

✅ Do you know the difference between Recovery and Transport?
They aren’t always the same thing, and the rules, licensing and insurance requirements can differ depending on the work being carried out. Calling a transport job a “recovery” doesn’t automatically make it one.

Price is always important, but when you’re trusting someone with your vehicle, it’s worth asking a few questions first.

There are plenty of good, professional transport and recovery companies out there doing things properly who will happily show you the correct paperwork.

Don’t be afraid to ask. If everything is being operated correctly, they won’t mind you checking. 👍

The more customers and operators understand what’s required, the more it helps encourage things to be done properly across the industry — ultimately helping to keep everyone, and everyone’s vehicles, safer. 🚗🚛

Hopefully this helps a few people know what to look for. 👍

A special thank you to everyone in the garage Heaver Brothers Ltd for getting all the inspection sorted and carrying out the work that needed doing on the new lorry to make sure she was ready to get out on the road. Really appreciate all the help! 👏🔧🚛

We also want to give a big thank you to our Transport Manager, Craig Carter, for all his help, advice and support behind the scenes. There’s a lot that goes into running everything correctly and keeping us compliant, and Craig has been a massive help getting everything in place as we’ve taken this next step with the business. 👏

🚛 We’ve been a little quiet on Facebook lately, but it’s been anything but quiet behind the scenes!

While one member of the team has been enjoying a well-earned holiday in Spain 🇪🇸☀️, the rest of us have been keeping the wheels turning.

One recent job saw us collect this stunning Mercedes-Benz S350d from Mercedes-Benz of Truro, delivering it safely to its new owner in Fleet, before bringing the customer’s part exchange back to the dealership.

A big thank you to all our customers for keeping us busy. We’ve got plenty more to share, so keep an eye on our page over the next few weeks! 👀

The last few weeks / months have definitely tested us.

Behind the scenes it’s been tough, with plenty of paperwork, long days, and a few stressful moments. But we’ve kept pushing forward, and we’re incredibly proud to say the hard work has paid off.

We’ve officially been granted our Operator’s Licence, welcomed another vehicle to the TM Norris Transport Ltd fleet, and added a new trailer too! 🚛✅

A massive thank you to our customers, family, friends, and the subcontractors who have supported us along the way.

A special thank you to Danielle and our children for putting up with the long hours, the late nights, and the stress. I couldn’t have done any of this without you.

This is just the beginning of the next chapter for TM Norris Transport Ltd, and we’re excited to see what the future holds. 🙏

And finally… after all the hard work, we’re looking forward to a well-deserved family holiday in Spain in just 6 days’ time. 🇪🇸✈️ Time to recharge the batteries before getting back on the road!

Another busy week on the road for TM Norris Transport Ltd! 🚛

We’ve also had an extra member of the team with us this week! ❤️ With the six-week holidays here, I’ve had my little helper out on the road. 😍

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Absolutely brilliant service from Tim and the team at Formula Trailers. We spoke on Friday as we urgently needed a trailer by Monday afternoon, and Tim pulled out all the stops to make it happen. The trailer was ready on time, and we were back on the road exactly when we needed to be. Fantastic customer service from start to finish, very helpful throughout, and nothing was too much trouble. We can’t thank Tim enough and would highly recommend Formula Trailers to anyone looking for a quality trailer and first-class service. 💯👏

A Ford kind of day today! 👌

Both of our Ford Rangers are now leaving the yard, loaded up and ready to deliver these two Ford Tourneos to their new destination.

The team got both vehicles collected and loaded yesterday afternoon, so it’s an early start this morning to get them safely delivered to our customer.

This morning the team has been down to Southampton Docks to collect this brand-new OMODA E5, and it’s now safely loaded and making its way back to the South West. 🚗✅
