Many Moons ago as a 16 year old, Graham started an apprenticeship with Bridge Garage, Thirsk, this started a long career in the motor industry. Since becoming self employed in 2012, Graham ambition was to have an apprentice and to give a young person the same opportunity. Going from mobile to unit based involved investing in the business. The ambition of an apprentice was still there and thanks to a government grant, the UK Shared Prosperity Fund applied through North Yorkshire Council, this was something we could do sooner rather then later. Our project Apprentice ready was approved for funding, a massive help in getting the business to a place where employing an apprentice was a reality. The money was put towards purchasing equipment to ensure our unit was at a place where an apprentice could work safely and moving the business forward to be more productive. The main expenditure was on a 2nd Ramp installation. A ramp that is capable of lifting larger vehicles and providing a work area for the apprentice.
North Yorkshire Council has been exceptional in there help with us growing our business, we rent our well maintained unit through them at an affordable rate, with someone at the end of the phone if there's any issues. We couldn't thank them enough in there help with our business.
Mobi-Tech Automotive is now in a position to introduce our Apprentice Alfie doing four days with us and day release at collage. Also Declan who helps on a Friday for work experience. Both doing their studies at Middlesbrough Collage.
If the help that Middlesbrough Collage has given us is the standard of training, the lads will do really well.
