Community Grant Helps TeignMobility Keep Shaldon Accessible for Everyone
Shaldon, Devon – TeignMobility is delighted to announce it has received a £1,500 grant from the Hall & Woodhouse Community Chest, enabling the charity to purchase a new mobility scooter for use by local residents and visitors.
The cheque was presented by Anthony Woodhouse Chairman of Hall & Woodhouse, to Brian Hamblin, a Trustee of TeignMobility, at The Ness Hotel in Shaldon – a much-loved local hotel and restaurant run by Hall & Woodhouse and a valued part of the community.
Anthony Woodhouse spoke about the importance of supporting local people, saying:
“TeignMobility plays a vital role in helping people who find it difficult to get around. It’s a charity that really makes a difference in everyday life, and we’re pleased this support will help more people enjoy what Shaldon has to offer.”
Brian Hamblin highlighted the impact the new scooter will have locally:
“This scooter will help people living in or visiting Shaldon to stay active, independent and connected. It will enable them to get out, enjoy the beautiful views, and spend time in local places such as The Ness, meeting friends and being part of the community.”
TeignMobility provides mobility scooters and wheelchairs for hire, helping ensure that everyone—whatever their mobility—can take part in community life and enjoy all that the area has to offer. TeignMobility is based in the Quay Car Park in Teignmouth and is run by volunteers. The office is open weekdays between 10am and Noon, and the phone is manned during weekdays 01626 777775.
